G crashed out. Quintana and Contador cracked on the final climb. Porte crashed out on final descent. Dan Martin crashed with Porte, but remounted and gave chase.

Wouldn't be surprised if ALM go for a big attack tomorrow to take yellow, but it will be easier to distance Aru than Froome.

Landa the big winner by being in the race-winning breakway group, so have included him on the table. Otherwise no change. ALM never formulated an advanced plan for Bardet of the level of SKY, but Aru the big winner and very fortunate with the way things transpired on the road. FYI: Uran pegged back 20secs on stage 12, not on today's stage, my apologies for not adjusting it correctly. | ||||||||||||||||||

As predicted the positioning factor was going to be a problem for Aru, and whilst there was talk from AST that he would want to lose the lead, it was the positioning which made it so much worse of a loss. Okay, the ITT discussion is a short and obvious one since it was already raised bb66, in terms of it being an advantage for Froome over his rivals. Bardet and Aru need to attack. Uran has been a noted TT rider when he was a noted rider, perhaps not this season, but he wouldn't surprise with a ride equal or even better than Froome, the way he is going. And older riders that come good again, tend to be very good with measuring their output, so he should be considered to be close to Froome in the ITT. However, need convincing he will stick in the mountains and even gain some time. | ||||||||||||||||||

Bardet looked exciting. Froome was hurt by him. Aru is gone like CJ stated on the stage thread, when they were on the climb. Uran has done nothing, and whilst I haven't rated him for the mountains, I do accept he is a strong TT rider and has done nothing so far in terms of just following wheels with minimum expense. Need to drill down a bit more, but he is making his presence felt, and if he is capable of sticking-on in tomorrow's stage, much like he has done so far by riding under the radar, he can pull out a big TT ride to get things even closer for himself. | ||||||||||||||||||

It's long ago Jagger has shown a decent ITT, though it's not impossible I rate it unlikely he will be much better than the rest and almost impossible he can match Froome.

On best form I think he can certainly match Froome. He has signalled he is in career-best form, but not necessarily in the ITT. In fact, results in stage 1 suggest he is far behind in the discipline against the clock. Therefore he will need Froome to have a bad day, which is unlikely, and for him to have an exceptional day, which I agree is unlikely. With two unlikely situations combining, I have to agree with you that Rigo is unlikely to recover some 30secs to put himself ahead of Froome and on that basis, Froome has accomplished his 3-peat performance, with no one able to get close-enough to him in the final two stages to steal the win.
