Chavez down to two teammates
If I'm Nibali I set a high tempo to rid them and attack 1km before the descent, seemed like Chavez was on the brink yesterday and today's is over 15km is be confident he can drop him there then use Tangert to assert on the final climb |
By:
Reckon that is the plan. Be amazing if he can do it from here. The stage has been strangely soporific so far but reckon we can't be far away from the fireworks.
|
By:
Scarponi on the front. Let's see what he can do. Fuglsang dropping off could be helpful for my Cannondale team classification bet if Uran and Cardoso can stay in the GC group for a bit, especially if Tangert drops back to help Nibali.

By:
Chaves can do this all day, Nibali will likely go on the steeper gradient, but he could be gunning out of road if this keeps up.

AST plan is on with Kangert dropping back, but Chaves appears comfortable to me and good amount of time in hand.
|
By:
Kangert still to join Nibali...

Technical descent...

Chaves looks to be cracking, happy to have a fellow countryman for help.
|
By:
Nibali has got this, I believe.
|
By:
Chaves. Cracked.

Holy ****!

Expert descending by Nibali, won't make the same mistake as Kruiswijk.
|
By:
I've laid Nibali at 1.1 to cover my stake
|
By:
Chaves is not going to handle this final climb, Nibali the winner of the Giro, comfortably.
|
By:
I'm too much of a cheapskate to do that.
|
By:
I can't believe Chaves has lost this race, but fair play to Nibali, he has shown top class today.
|
By:
Boom! What a champion!

In fact AST set this up perfectly today. Chaves had a simple plan, but the nervous energy got into his legs and he has shown he is a class down on Nibali.
|
By:
MC, I can't believe we have both tipped Nibali at ante-post, all that has happened has happened with him, and he is sitting on the throne with the trophy at the end of it. You said the Giro would be entertaining and whilst I didn't initially share your enthusiasm, it has proven to be a highly entertaining race. Well said mate.

By:
Brilliant today from AST. Just when Valverde and Uran were getting back to Nibali, Kangert came back, did 5 minutes on the front to the top of the climb and that was that. Superb from Nibali though, what a champion!
|
By:
Well done guys. I really can't believe how Nibali came back to win this especially after the tantrums thrown a couple of days ago. Yes, there was luck involved with both Kruijswijk and Chaves not being 100% but it still takes some doing.
|
By:
Cheers CJ, but no outright bets for me, all my Nibali stakes were on the exchange and I layed-off a lot of it when he was failing, really wanted Chaves as he was a considerable return.
