A pan flat procession through Northern Italy from Turin to Milan, which will bear some resemblance to the final stage of the Tour de France, featuring as it does a final circuit through a busy city, next to a famous arch. The route offers nothing for the peloton to worry about in terms of climbing, and the only things that can stop the riders getting to the finish line in Rome will be street furniture as the route rolls through several towns and urban areas. They peloton will traverse the Po Valley, before getting to Rome and taking on a 5.4km finishing circuit 7 times. The final circuit stretches along wide, well-paved roads around the Vigorelli velodrome and the Fiera Milano City fairground. It features 8 bends and 4 half-bends, and it crosses a tram-line twice. The home straight is 1 km long, on 8.5-m wide asphalt road on Corso Sempione, next to the Arch of Peace, Arco della Pace. This is highly likely to end in a bunch sprint, personally I'd like to see Nizzolo win but he's short enough at 11/4 considering how many times he has been on the premises and not won.
Haussler was good when 4th in stage 17 into Lugano, and he has stated he has gained confidence from that result. He is also good value on an E/W basis given he is more likely to just miss the top spot, and yet his place terms are about twice better than Modolo's price for the potential win.
** Sacha Modolo Is the only sprinter with multiple stage wins at this Giro, and taking into account the organisation of LAM in delivering him to the Lugano line with such clinical ease, in what was a chaotic and difficult run-in, I think he is a deserving favourite. He was actually born in this northern part of Italy, some 3 hours away outside Venice, and he will be committed to a good finish in front of a home crowd. He is the short-priced favourite at 2/1 best (various). He is much better than that on here, though. Expect forward showing. Good W/O prospects.
Good luck to all, SP

Yes well in guys. It's been a fantastic GT and we've had some excellent discussion on here throughout. The BF guys said they would give us a cycling forum as a trial originally and see how it went. Reckon we've easily done enough to make sure we keep it. Hope you've all made some decent profit and enjoyed it as much as I have. Looking back through my records I'm up overall from this race. I didn’t have any bets in the GC and my one bet in the points classification (Lobato) was a disaster, but I’ve done well in the stages despite some big ups and downs.
My profit came largely due to Kiryieka's win (25/1) in the Stage 14 time trial which was a pretty big bet for me. I also had a winner on Greipel Stage 6 (5/2) and some smaller bets at big prices in play that won, such as Ulissi Stage 7 (IP 66/1), Zakarin Stage 11 (IP 100/1). I also had some placed bets at biggish prices like Hofland (25/1) on Stage 2, Chavanel (200/1) Stage 5, Lobato (16/1) Stage 7, Landa (28/1) Stage 8, Uran (100/1) Stage 19 and Uran again (40/1) Stage 20.
The low points were Stage 4 (Formolo – I was all over some of the punchier riders like Bling and then threw good money after bad by laying Formolo in running). Stage 9 (Tiralongo) was another in-running lay disaster and to make it worse I also had Elissonde in break 300/1 6 places and he came 8th. Another shocker was not backing Gilbert for Stage 12 despite thinking it was perfect for him. Finally, not taking Astana’s superiority in the mountains and amazing recovery powers seriously enough meant I missed out on some big prices on Landa and Aru’s two stage wins each both before those stages and in-play and overall I haven’t actually fared that well in the mountain stages. Some of you guys were well on board with the programme by that stage and it tells me I need to analyse who is strongest a lot more carefully, as well as think about team tactics and dynamics in these situations in future. It will be interesting to see what Astana are capable of in the Tour when they bring their first team!
Next up for me is the Critérium du Dauphiné which starts a week today and I started work on the fred this morning.

I guess if you look at the overall sprinters and leaders jersey competitions there is a case for saying it was not that competitive, and certainly in terms of the points jersey you could say it wasn't of the highest quality because you could probably name half a dozen sprinters who you'd expect to beat those lot. But in terms of the unpredictability of the stages and the hardness of the racing it never stopped giving, I've really enjoyed it.
