So, Stage 11...we are on the way home but we've a way to go yet. This is a short but hard stage with 9 quick and steep climbs in total, although only three of them are actually categorised. Make no mistake though, this is a tough stage. Route
Profile
We start in Forli, in Emiglio Romagna, one of Italy's foremost agricultural centres. We head South West at first, towards Florence, before turning North West towards Bologna. After the five climbs of Trebbio (Cat 3), Monte Casala, La Valletta, Monte albano and Valico del Prugno (Cat 3) we reach the Imola circuit where we take the Tre Monti climb four times and end with the final descent of the Tre Monti.
In the final 15km circuit we are partly on the Imola racetrack and partly off it. From the finish line on the pit straight we cover 3.5km of the track up to the famous Variante Alta chicane. That's a bottleneck, the race then leaves the racecourse and then we head up to the Tre Monti. We take this circuit 4 times although there are only KOM points as we go over for the third time. After the crest there is a descent on wide and well paved roads to the finish. There's a last left hand bend at 650m, onto Autdromo E. e D. Ferrari where we finish on a wide straight 650m wide road. We've rolled up at Imola twice previously; latterly when Roberto Pagnin won Stage 10 of the 1992 Giro.
The breakaway could well take this stage, so it probably is a lottery but maybe a powerful rider like Andrey Amadaor could win this from a break?
When I wrote that ^^^ I wasn't really expecting Amador to still be a facotr in the GC and although I don't suppose Contador et al will be overly worried about him he isn't going to be allowed in a break when he's only 2mins down and the ITT is only a few days away. Stange then to see Amador backed in with almost every bookie for tomorrow. Certainly won't be carrying my cash. Great to see Boils going 6 places again. I purposely waited until their prices were up to see how many places we'd get so pleased with that. Think the break has a chance again today so fairly small stakes but I've scattered a few coins on Boonen 200/1, Kung 125/1, Roux 150/1 and Bongiorno 125/1 all with 6 places.

This could be a hard stage if the first part is ridden fast. With Astana's levels really high at the moment they could make things selective in the first half of the stage otherwise we could see another break.

Astonishing performance by Zakarin here. Managed to get £2 on Zakarin at 100/1 along with a number of others in the break when Betvictor reopened their market without adjusting for the break up the road. Be interesting to see if it gets paid out. Also got £3 at 27.0 on here. It's all downhill from here so should stay out unless he overcooks it on a corner.

Wasn't anything to clever about today, just noticed BV hadn't adjusted for the break when they reopened. Scattered the few quid I had in there on the breakaway riders they had quoted, also got Inxausti 66s, Hesjedal 80s, Rosa 100s, Montaguti 100s & Kruijswik 100s.
