Who does everyone fancy for the TDU and the preceding People's classic?
I've not had a bet on the People's classic. It should be a Kittel cakewalk, and I've missed the fancy prices on his leadout man so if I was having a bet I'd have a small each way play on Barry Markus @ 25/1.
Difficult to make any selections with confidence for the GC here. Winunga Hill will make the selection as always. I'll have small each way play on Rohan Dennis and Jose Herrada at 50/1 and 66/1 respectively.
I'll be giving the event a miss. No idea if the 1st stage will be a sprint but even if it is, Kittel may not take part. Last year he didn't do much more than turn up

May the same case here. Be interesting to see if Kittel does a lead out here for Tom Dumoulin. Meersman, Impey and Lobato all look well suited to todays sprint finish with the amount of climbing, but my money's on young Bonifazio. Looked good at the end of Stage 1 and seems to like the non-European races. I've taken Bet £3.65's 18/1. I've also had a shout on my lot's young sprinter Lorrenzo Manzin at 100/1.

Wow! Knew Dennis was handy in that sort of finish, and fast, but never thought he'd have permission to win if Evans was still on the scene. Still, my 50/1 is looking pretty now. Let's hope he's got the legs tonight.

Stage 4 could be anything. It should be a sprint - even if it's possibly a little lumpy for Kittel. However, an early break could make it - it's difficult to know who will chase all day. BMC are a man down, Giant might not want to chase for Kittel. Orica might be the prime candidates to chase down a move to set up Impey, and there are obviously bonus seconds to play for GC guys if they can steal seconds. I've just gone for a few rags. Tom Dumoulin 40/1, Gorka Izaguire 125/1, Luke Durbridge 125/1 and Adam Hansen 150/1.

Well unless Porte manages to pick up some bonus seconds from somewhere in the Adelaide crit tomorrow, that should be a nice 50/1 winner to start the racing year
