CM -- Being so close to the action, would really like to hear yr analysis mate? Definitely agree with the racing in the CD being the stronger race, but it did have the stronger riders. Both races were thoroughly enjoyable, and they did offer some good form indications ahead of the Tour, and the market moves were welcome, also. It's an interesting question on the matter of favouritism. SP

thanks for the info Geoff, real bad news about Cav i am a massive fan.
Coverage of the time trial is appalling with just live updates on the British Cycling website plus twitter updates. It is like the old days of watching football on Teletext , very poor. Hope you have a good time it should be exciting. Sky get more withdrawals by the day, now EBH misses out on the Tour. I would like to see Philip Deignan get a ride in the Tour as he has shown potential at times this year and is not afraid to attack. No doubt Brailsford will go with experience though. |

Hi cedarmaster thanx.
Wonderfull weather travelling down blue sky sunny warm @ 23C then you hit the Welsh Border no sunshine /blue sky or warm weather allowed in. Grey skies cloud and rain only and dropped to around 15C. That said didnt dampen spirits and had a great day/evening.Even managed to take in 1 of the killer local climbs The Tumble, having ridden 4 hours in the morning this 6km @ 10% just about finished me off . Wonderfull evening despite the weather rounded off by a fantastic win by Wiggo. I must admit having had a look @ the course ,very technical, sharp descents, 90 degree turns and a humungous climb about 1KM from the finish(around a 25% gradient in places ) into Celtic Manor and the persistent rain didnt fancy Wiggos chances 2 much. But he was clearly non the worse for his tour de suisse tumble and on top of his game. Gutted hes not part of the tour team. Sky are without 2 of their diesel engines Stannard /Boasson Hagen who drive the peleton hard into the lower slopes of the mountains Wiggins would be ideal to fill this supporting role plus his experince of the pave (i dont see him as any threat on GC) as his top end climbing/change of pace he just cant cope with |
