Seems strange timing to go now, would have though he would have seen out this series. England get lucky again !
An exceptional player, averaging 54 in tests. 9,500+ runs in 110 matches.
If he was an Aussie or an Englishman he would have scored a lot more runs due to playing many more tests. NZ simply don't play the same number as the "bigger" test nations.
Joe Root has played 164 tests for instance, having made his international debut 2 years after KW.
Nothing flash about him and always put the team first. A fine ambassador for the game.
