Passed away at the weekend. I remember seeing him when i was a youngster playing for Warwickshire against Kent.
Big guy, attacking opening batsman who could easily have played more tests that the four he did (it was the Boycott/Edrich era).
Even though his test career was short, he holds a couple of (unwanted) records. The only Englishman to be run out twice in the same match, and following on from that , the only cricketer to be run out in test matches in three consecutive innings

Sad news indeed. I remember the name certainly and probably watched him in Test's. The only thing I remember was that he was regarded as a hard hitting batsman.
