From 2026 there will be three groups of six counties,  South/Central/Northern. all matches will be played in one bloc, including Q/F's and Finals Day, before the wretched Hundred begins.

10 matches in each group with counties playing each other home and away. All good so far - but then there will be two extra games for each county, playing one home and one away against random teams from the other two groups. Totally unnecessary to add those extra games and also has an element of unfairness if for instance your extra two games are against top sides.

So we will avoid a repetition of this year where we have had a massive gap between the groups and knockout stage to accommodate the ECB's money grabbing pyjama fest.

Just a shame they didn't market the T20 in the first place and play it in August.

They need to combine the 100 with the t20,use a mix of the criteria, and have a big decent competition.

5 x 20 ball overs would do it, as I suggested on another thread.

That was a cracking win for Northants. Didn't even realise Bopara was still playing, good job he was !

One in the eye for the Surrey all stars and at The Oval too, most pleasing to see.

A thumping win for Hampshire Hayden, they are having a very good one day season and will be hard to beat on finals day.
Not sure why Durham put them in tonight though, get runs on the board i always say.

Kent squeezed through via a win in the last group game. taking on Lancs tomorrow who have beaten us twice in recent QF's so we owe them one.
Much will depend on the batting line up as the bowling is a bit weak, hopefully Grant Stewart will be fit.
Grant is a very interesting character as well as being a more than decent all rounder,  born in Australia, plays international cricket for Italy, is a qualified civil engineer and has also set up his own recovery/recuperation studio business in Canterbury  earlier this year. He also has an extremely fit partner Wink

Seems to be the way with Muyeye WD, lives by the sword etc etc

Zak was going well there, poor dismissal Angry

Now that tawt Billings is out, he's effing useless with the bat for Kent in recent years, keeps chasing the big bucks elsewhere. I'd just bin him off.

Some very poor dismissals for Kent here. It doesn't help that the group stages finished SEVEN weeks ago and they now have to get back in to the 20/20 mindset again, it just makes me hate the wretched Hundred even more Sad. That said it's no excuse for bad shot choices.

A good 20 runs short there.  Needed someone to anchor the innings but they kept getting themselves out with poor shots.
The Kent bowling isn't really strong enough to defend that score i fear, will need the Lancs batsmen to underperform to make a game of it.

How often does one see 9 4s struck off 9 consecutive balls?

I've not see that before.

It's surprising that Sean Dickson hasn't achieved more in the game, he was a bit of a run machine for Kent 5 to 10 years back in the championship but never really seemed to do as well in limited over games. It was a shame he left us.

Seeing him play an innings like today shows just what he was capable of, yet again Kent's internal politics costing the club dear.

Why on earth Kent have allowed Billings to do whatever he likes is beyond me. He simply should never be near the captaincy after choosing to carry the drinks in the IPL a couple of years ago and missing the first few weeks of the season for the county. Ever since he started jet setting around the world to feather his nest courtesy of meaningless (in cricket terms) T20 competitions and of course the wretched Hundred, his form has fallen off a cliff and today was a prime example of how poor his batting has become. Harry Finch should have played in his place.

Weather looks a bit dodgy this week so fingers crossed a full days play is possible next saturday and may the best team win.
