Three matches in and it's 6-0 Australia. Another win and it's effectively all over with three matches to play.

England have been hyped up as if this was going to be close. Instead it's turned into a disaster. In the second match they couldn't chase down a 180. Last night 50 odd for 4 became more than 300 with the supposed better bowlers being smashed all over the park.

It looks like a huge gulf, and you wouldn't be too hopeful that England will come away with anything. I imagine Australia would love a 16-0 scoreline.

Hammered again and it's all over.

Many problems, but the biggest one has been players getting 20 or 30 and not going on to get a proper score. You are not going to win anything if that's the best you can do. Sciver-Brunt the chief culprit. It doesn't really matter if they suddenly manage to do it in the last three games because the chance has gone. They couldn't do it under real pressure.

Oz have been the class of Womens cricket for a while (despite spectacular meltdown @ T20 WC) ..not likely to beat them in Australia...

did ok at home against them...

England best of the rest... (ranked 2 in both white ball formats) ..

Alex Hartley nailed it at the T20 World Cup although, let's face it, England are nowhere near as good as Australia.

Hartley a bit of a diva in her own right these days but very honest and accurate in some of her critique post the t20 wc and now some of the side won't speak to her while she does broadcast media....

Noteable a former Australian(w) made the point of just how different all the pre game prep even is...let alone some obvious less than primed physiques..

Short odds now against 16-0. Australia cantering home despite players out.

Not so sure that right now England would see off India.

After those three there is an obvious gap to South Africa and the rest.

With the exception of Nat Sciver, the England women seem to be stuck in a rut and the team urgently need a new approach with new players (if there are any coming through) a more professional attitude (they are laughing and joking on field even while getting thrashed) and a new captain. They have been very good to watch in the last 5 years but they need a refresh.

You could strongly argue that Sciver-Brunt has been England's biggest failure. She was the great hope, and she hasn't really delivered on that at all. She's been exposed. There is no obvious replacement captain, and not a mass of new players to come in. It's not an old team so most of the players won't be going anywhere soon. Those who have been tried the captaincy haven't looked good at all. That's probably why Knight has been around for such a long time.

Dropping them for fun (catches that is) today..

fielding and fitness the main priority going forward...should really be a coaching change at the end of this series..

Yeah the Pomms need to go to fat farm. They have the athleticism of a blancmange. And women want to be paid the same as men. God bless them.
