This is a huge draw play cricketnut
I am in at 11’s ( 10-1 ) I missed out on 27’s and 50-1 Not saying this is a nailed on draw. As I stated already there has been only one draw in Test Matches this year but Hagley is a good pitch. Depending on how many England get NZ may only need to bat 4 sessions although if these two carry in they may need to bat 5-6 which is significantly harder although they have a very good and dogged batting line up |

FairPlay to England
Absolutely did not see this coming in the same way as nobody saw NZ whitewashing India. I think NZ are a crack Test outfit but have let themselves down badly in this Test giving their wickets away and dropping so many catches but that is why we love this game Stan. Sets the series up nicely too. Confirms Pope is not really the number 3 and the search is still on. Very impressed with Carse. |

give harry brook 6 knocks and you ain't likely to win any match
not sure what they do with number 3. they're all middle order batsmen and no way will they be moving root or brook. i guess pope will have bite the bullet and go back there |

I think Bethell and Carse are huge pluses for England. There will always be players with better averages but I like the way Rob Key has let his people do this crazy stuff. No way should Bethell be batting at number 3 in a Test Match, it is frankly ridiculous but I think he has all the attributes of a successful Test Batsman and like the look of him. I hope he grabs his chance as whilst Pope can be very good I think England need something better and tougher. I think Bethell will dig in when he has to and play the laughing cavalier when he can.
