I really should have checked the rules first - my short lay would have been an idiot-bet gift if he'd somehow got re-instated at the eleventh hour - at least I got to trade out just in case. Surprised so much big money was available on the lay side though.

there have been a few markets over the years (can't recall the specifics unfortunately) where layers (inflating prices) were on a hiding to nothing in those type of scenarios..would have been a nice free ride green for you though VV...

I couldn't find his ridiculing chat but sageform would have done all right (hallegedly, hallegedly). I would only have been green if Novak didn't play and the market didn't get voided, otherwise I was planning on covering at the "normal" odds for no loss. It was an impulse bet when I checked the market after hearing the news followed by a lucky trade-out. I'd have been very uncomfortable if the market had traded even lower then stayed open for days whilst a further decision was discussed.

Malan plays those half arsed angled bat, back foot defensives a lot...can only think they are a carry over from white ball stuff where the defensive shot is a last resort..'cause they look awful and he's been close to doing that numerous times this series..

Eng's two best bats..had a small oz lay..but looking tough against Green especially..

We must continue to show intent or there is no hope.

Head & Green's very rapid, relative monster of a partnership is the only spell of concerted scoring in this match.

Green by most fast bowling parameters just starting out...if he stays injury free...

Stokes is an overrated thug

Commentators, pundits “experts” I’ve $hit better

Nobody has mentioned the salient point

Yet again we bottled it, won the toss and refused to bat in the Test format

1) shows the opposition that you are frightened of them

2) you CHOOSE to bat last when the pitch should be at its worst (conducive to spin, rough patches etc)

3) you CHOOSE to face “scoreboard pressure”

our line up would have been lucky to get 50...

it's not inconceivable this is on if joe can get 70/80 and Pope Billings 30/40,Woakes 30 and a few boundaries from the tail but unfortunately unlikely esp giving conditions are quite bowler friendly

they are obviously coached to bat across the line, as very few play straight and hit the ball, back where it came from. Far too much joke cricket the 100 needs kicking out of the game and just play 20/20. Cricket needs to be played properly, where the bowling side, have to bowl the opposition out, before they can bat. Now the side selected for this tour and I said so at the time, was always going to be way short of what was needed and that is how its proved, especially in the batting line up. Apart from Root and an injured Stokes, the rest was unproven at this level and none have come up to scrath.

it's a fitting finish to the series at least...comedy gold ...

you've got the Women's Ashes coming up

Thought the Pomms had it in them to win one test but they must be the biggest set of spineless cricketers to have ever set foot on our shores. One exception to the rule Mark Wood. by all accounts we've had the best ever preparation

and with Silverwood and Root at the helm we look practically invincible

if i were the Aussies i'd be rightly fearful

could well get whitewashed on home soil

The GAshes Test has been a lot more competitive than any of the men's matches - what happens if the girls' Test side starts consistently beating the Aussies? Will people demand eventually the utter humiliation of the men by demanding a multi-Test series for the girls and only a single Test for the men?

Aus traded in the 100s (peaked at 1,000 for pence) then came back down to near evens

England traded into the 100s (peaked at 300) then went as low as 1.07

Draw traded 1.01 then out to 10s+ (peaked of 18)

Result: Match Drawn

incredible game...called it a day as wasn't trading it when Beaumont was out and thought any realistic chase was probably done at that point..
great effort to give it a proper go (Eng) even if it did nearly end in tears..
wish I had traded it looking at some of those numbers..

10 runs off 1 legitimate ball including 2 catches, 2 no balls, a change in bowler meaning 2 bowlers bowled the same ball I think. Correction, the sam3 bowler. Commentator git his knickers in a twist there thinking bowler was gawn for 2 successive no balls. The second was above waist height Beamer so confused him. Fir the record the Umpire was a bird and got it right. The commentator was a man and got it wrong, a right Charlie, which, is also his name. 20 odd from the over. Exciting stuff.

20-run over. The pendulum swings Afghanistan's way. 46-run stand off 27 balls. The game could be decided by a matter of inches. Had Sales had his foot behind the line on the first ball of the over, it's a wicket and Afghanistan are seven down. Instead, it opens the door for another no ball and another free hit and absolute chaos.

phenomenal job by Boyden to go for only 4 in the 45th over to get us back in it and then a mix of some fortunate stuff (long hop caught on the boundary that should have been clearing the rope) and some good stuff from Rehan Ahmed (certainly bowls a good googly but way too many half trackers from him on the day)..in the end the scoreboard looks reasonably comfortable but was anything but..

still first U-19's final since 1998 so big credit to the lads...

India batting looking good and Aussie bowling looking ordinary ( thank the fceking lard! ) so some hope for us in the future. Aussie do not have a fast bowler at this level which is a little surprising.

The batting and bowling coaches need to go as well as the Head Coach. The King of Spain cannot be the sole sacrificial.
