It slows it right down and also talks about how our eyes can deceive us as they can only see at so many frames per second.
The framerate is 24 fps - 10 frames make 0.416 seconds of action. Note that humans can see 10-12 FPS as separate images.
It definitely misses the front pad completely and smacks into the back
I still think Joel was justified in giving it not out, our eyes don't have that sort of ability in real time.
