when you see it spin against non Sub continental sides you have to have a punt.

This is looking dire for NZ. the only consolation is that NZ are batting first and do have 3 spinners as well (though Santa is not really a spinner in the sense that he gets turn and bounce).

weather looks fine for today, could get many stop and starts in play on the last 3 days if hourly weather forecast is correct.backing and then laying the draw maybe the best chance for profit. is the forecast accurate or does it just rain in late afternoon. any ideas

weather is just impossible to predict in SL.

Cheers mate,I saw your link earlier in the thread and was using it fine yesterday but was unusable for me today in the main.

Careful not to grant "notifications" on any pop-up box from that link. You can block it again from  "Settings"
but not before you get flooded with silly flashes about mindless trivia, with a token pic of a pretty girl.

The pitch has slowed down and the bounce is slightly less. The bounce can normally be more of a problem than the slow spin. I did think SL would get more first innings runs as they are used to the conditions.

The pitch can " die " which might make it difficult to score on particularly if the bounce gets low and you have to play the line more so than the length. If the weather comes in and I am not saying it will then an interesting situation would occur that might leave people clamouring to cover their positions but they shoul have done that at 24's so let's see what happens. Can't see Lanka screaming away against the new ball to make it interesting.

When the ball goes softer it should grip more but then gain after 35-40 will it be soft and slower. The ball is not spitting off the pitch yet. I just would like these batsmen to stay in to give the market some thought although I expect NZ to win eventually. Matthews could be key for Lanka

Opera browser has a built in VPN.....very handy tool for free.  Mind you I will never use streaming sites sites on anything but a chromewbook

I think it is too early to make any conclusions here. SL could bat out the next session as it will be curtailed because of the light but tomorrow I expect the pitch to rip up a little with bounce being the danger. We have see a couple of balls from Sommers lift sharply and take chunks out of the pitch.

No I layed the draw early on (3.75 ish) and have let that ride. I was tempted backing NZ a few times but not confident fully in their spin bowlers. Would not be surprised to see NZ win but not going to waste $ on it.

Yeah I lived with a guy from SA some years ago. He said it wasn't unusual for visiting engineers that wandered too far from the city centres to get kidnapped for ransom. He used to own a farm out there.
