I agree ... the Lankans are surely overpriced at 2.96 (as I look)... a win keeps them interested in the WC and surely they will be up for it
The Saffers are free to play a natural game but they are ordinary ... my thoughts are they are thinking of home & will have little interest in a meaningless game for them .. they may make changes which might help but performances to date have been woeful |

Lankans looked full of purpose last match thats for sure. Will wait and watch a bit of body language to confirm thoughts on SA, after all avoiding the wooden spoon can be a powerful motivator.
Hopefully Sri Lanka get to field first, more than happy to lump on them and hold on for 10 overs or longer if its moving around. Cricinfo site has really gone to the dogs hasn't it. Typical overengineered USA garbage now. |

Jumping on the Saffer wasters if they bat 1st despite my qualms.

"This is Chester-le-Street's first match of the World Cup, and a fresh pitch could well encourage the bowlers early on. The average first innings score at this ground in the last five ODIs played here is a modest 262, and the team that bowls first has won three of those games and nine times out of 16 overall. Fortunately, the weather is expected to be fine on Friday."

No bet again until I see how Lanka cope with the 1st 10 overs

Game might be decided in the 1st hour ... seam can often play a part early in the day at the Riverside which gives SA the opportunity to make early inroads. If they don't then the Lankans could reach a highly comprtitive score and I'm doubtful SA would be up (or capable) of a biggish run chase
Anyway I have backed Sri Lanka @ 2.96 and topped up at 3.15 |

Of the thirty completed matches to date, 19 have been won by the team batting first, 11 by the chaser.
Eight of the last nine have gone to the team batting first, just saying ![]() |

So Lankans wanted to bat first anyways. If they had won the toss they would be 3.45, or 2.7??
