After the hosts winning their first game comfortably, we move to the motherland of the famous outlaw Sir Robinhood for the second game between Windies and Pakistan, a contest dubbed as 'mouth watering' by forum regular Cardinal Scott. Tom thinks Pakistan are a pathetic unit, despite tipping them last year and sucking one forum member into backing Pakistan outright, claiming 10s was a great price. As things stand, Pakistan haven't won a one day international since. No, not even the practice games.
Pakistan have only won 9 out of the 32 ODIs they have played since their CT win in 2017. They've brought back Wahab Riaz aka The Jacket to help them get back to their winning ways.
Windies are flying high with talks of them scoring 500 runs in an innings. They should feast on the Pakistan attack considering the fact that Trent bridge is always a batting paradise.
Pitch: As always, a runway.
Weather: Weather is expected to stay overcast but no help to the bowlers is expected due to the nature of the pitch and ground dimensions(picture will be made available soon).
How to play:
Wait for Windies to get into trouble and if you see Wahab Riaz coming into the attack, lay Pakistan for a short trade.
Expected result: Pakistan win by 37 runs.

He hasn't played a game since June 2017. So if they added him in the squad despite that, he is playing.

I filtered his stats - post 2015 WC, away to Aus, eng, NZ and RSA. It's 9 games with 8 wickets and 6.5rpo.
That doesn't tell the full story. Some of those games were easy chases. Pitch Report by Michael Holding: It is slightly overcast today. There is a tinge of grass on this wicket but that wouldn't excite the fast bowlers. It is white and it is firm and the curator told that we have tried to get the moisture out. 'Bowlers can expect nothing'. There will be some moisture initially but after that it will be a proper batting track.

Sarfaraz Ahmed: We wanted to field first because of the moisture on the wicket and overcast conditions. I doesn't matter, if we survive first few overs then it will be a good pitch. Our batters are in good form. We announced our twelve yesterday so out of that Asif Ali is not playing. We have experience in our bowling line-up and I have confidence in my bowlers.
Jason Holder: We will field first. I don't think conditions are going to change much. Hopefully, we will get some movement and we will get some early wickets. We had a good camp and two decent warm-up matches. Evin Lewis is not fit and Shannon Gabriel is also not fit. We've left out Fabian Allen and Kemar Roach. I think we are getting better and better each time we are going out in the field. |
