Cut my red by about a third on that spike. If it goes much higher I might cut some more and go over-red on the other side to the level I was earlier on this side.

Hey - we forgot the Bond music for "The Draw Never Dies"
Report Fatslogger March 26, 2018 5:06 AM BST
I’ve just spent about half an hour changing two nappies (baby faked me out with the first) and the draw was hovering around 4 all that time. Could neither work out why it was so low nor why it wasn’t falling with time and runs. It’s still 4 to lay!
Report tyco161 March 26, 2018 5:12 AM BST
Draw down to 3.40 now, A lot of rain around they say but still I cannot see it coming to the city. England batsmen also looking reasonably solid so that will be helping too.

Very much not. Could be that cricket factors in other stuff but suspect it’s just a bit more randomly traded. I took some 3.25 expecting a quick drop and it went up!

Report Cardinal Scott March 26, 2018 5:36 AM BST
Now the momentum is back but Stokes suddenly looking less solid.
Report tyco161 March 26, 2018 5:37 AM BST
Cricket has more variables like weather. And this market currently is very much being dictated by all that rain out West. It may come it may not, but if it does it looks pretty bad. But it may not come at all (big chance of that happening). So I am thinking if those close to the action see a band moving closer they may take  the draw and if it reverses reverse on the draw. Its very wet and dark out West but for the last 3 hours it has not really threatened at all.

Flip is very acheivable now!
Report Cardinal Scott March 26, 2018 5:42 AM BST

Report Fatslogger March 26, 2018 5:42 AM BST
Greener! Picked up the 2.9 I put in after backing at 3.55 overnight. Still have a 1.9 around, which would put me 800 even green.

Should they be trying to score runs or not here? It feels like a situation where the runs don’t mattter much but they could affect things a bit if England out with very little time left. Thing is, say Stokes and Anderson in with 10 overs left and scores near level, you’d want Stokes to take some risks to farm strike but probably not to score runs to set a lead up.

Relatively nicely green now.

Astle has bowled quite nicely here. Odd to have a leg spinner and not use him when you don’t care much about going for runs. Although having said that, England will get a lead if batting into the last 8 or so overs, which at least takes 2 out for changeover. Could conceivably have a comical 2 overs to get 25 runs or so. Would be hilarious if that’s happened. Can’t say I’ve ever really seen it apart from England Sri Lanka once where Vaughan and Trescothick got something like 60 very comfortably inside 5 overs and England failing to do similarly in the first UAE test against the light rather than the nominal overs left though.

I think you’re letting your pocket talk too much or just being unfair. England didn’t do especially well today but sides rarely bat out fifth days, even on flat wicket, with only 7 left. They threw away too many wickets but again, that’s what sides do. Day 1 was the crime.

Oddly I actually slightly increased green with last day trading. There was a massive draw crash after Overton out.

With all the stoppage that was not a 5th day pitch it was a 3 & half ..........that was a featherbed pitch anyway and nearly all Eng wickets were soft.    All the top order got starts.  That should have been saved.

Ok, need to box clever, change stance, adopt a negative attitude like he does. All he has is a 130k short ball and an ability to test your patience for a period of time. Over the wicket open the stance right up bat on/outside leg, and around the wicket bat on/outside off stump. It's not rocket science, he's been doing it for a while now.
Make him try and hit the wickets as you will inevitably be leaving them in view!!

Report jucel69 March 26, 2018 12:08 PM BST
look how Amla annihilated Swann in recent times (batting miles outside off)  or Lara, Sachin against Warne. You need to think outside the box. Open your stance up and make him change his ONLY plan. If you bat on middle, leg with a massively open stance, he's already thinking about how to change it up.
Report Fatslogger March 26, 2018 12:17 PM BST
I think take a normal stance, because you don’t want him getting you with a leg stump yorker but just duck everything short and forget that you have a bat unless he bowls full. It does seem to be extremely difficult for batsmen to change their approach though. Perhaps changing stance is the way to force it.
Report Fatslogger March 26, 2018 12:23 PM BST

If you open up you can sway out of the way so easily and therefore concentrate on yorkers etc.
If you get out to a 130k pie man's yorker it's time to find another way to make a living.

Report Whisperingdeath March 26, 2018 3:03 PM BST
I ashley thought Wagner bowled very well. He is awkward being short. My way of playing fast bowling was always to get into line quickly. From there you can step inside the line and watch it go over your left shoulder. The more you leave and don't play the more the bowler gets frustrated then he tries to start hitting you which makes it easier still.

England have no plan, no organisation. To be honest we all know and are wasting our time. it is same old same old and nothing happens. It has been like this for years.

Grant,

Stokes got out to a T20 shot, stop complaining and stick to your gameWink. The IPL starts soon
