All the evidence points towards that run-lines are not the way to go. Grant and Juce are the ones to ask though.
From what I can tell Grant goes for odds on whereas Juce goes for long shots.

I've been doing OK on the BF run lines (excluding this match, which was a total mess). But I usually do some kind of mix of positions.Today I didn't hedge the lower end, to my cost.
I've just dabbled a bit for peanuts in the past, not followed IPL every year though. Run lines give me something to do in the first half of a match. I often find by the time I've hedged all the positions that I've actually traded off what might have been a good win to exclude the risk of loss, but if I come out slightly ahead I'm reasonably happy.
Always seem to caught the wrong side of match odds - if I lay short and it turns out to be a train, but if I back something it goes the wrong way immediately and never recovers. This match has totally done me over (so far).

Test cricket has always treated me well in the past though.
Suddenly Mumbai bowling looks great...this is exactly what I said..you can't judge how good a bowling attack is by having one eye on the runs they are defending...Mumbai has a good bowling attack not the best in this IPL but a good one for sure..

Your post sounds near enough the direct opposite to me. If I try and trade runs it goes pear shaped. I'm just no good at it.
Match odds I rarely lose in T20.
I struggle in Tests though do show a long term profit. It's too slow for me to trade and I lose patience. Weather is another thing I dislike but can see why it's very important.

I'm still furious Morris didn't get to bat the other night
Just cashed out for level modest red having topped up my lay. Probably kick myself if these two hang around but can't risk the huge red I had before the climb-back.
I'm massive green in the test so chucked a few k at Morris to see me home

My 10.5 back of Delhi has paid me well..I am now out of this...and hoping for a Delhi win..specially some big sixes from Morris..

Lose ! Better on 50 overs and use it for hedging in tests.

Let me know what your bets are..I would replicate them..u are pretty much capable of it
Ive done well on runlines in the past but only played them when it was clear that the market was wrong

Interesting Tom apart from the fact that when I bet I always think the market is wrong. But I'm usually wrong on runs so need to think why.
You often see big runs expected and just know its wrong
and I dont mean wrong by 10 runs, I mean think its wrong by 30-40

A lot of it's luck. Stupid shots or blinding catches on runways can finish your run line in seconds
My experience with run lines is you need luck by your side..
Often see short odds which I think are sensible for backers, the 1.2 for 120 or 130 type things.

Morris not striking like he is known for..Rabada has overshadowed him..
I find if my first bet moves in my favour I get plenty of opportunities to trade the opposite way on other lines either side, which means you can build a position that isn't so vulnerable to the either/or result missing by one or two runs.

Yeah thats why I like match odds, can recover from a bad situation easier
I've posted that many times Tom, or at least feels like I have, with runs you have no second innings.
But then again you have two 10 over innings so to speak.

Am I right in feeling that the early matches in the tourny are more likely to be trains and the later matches more flip-floppy? It certainly seems that way.
I have no sensible answer to that VV but as a complete guess I'd have thought the other way around?
I've not been in this market during the chase, like to see Morris show his X Factor and bring home the bacon!...Must be one of the leading T20 Guns now.
The only logic I can put forward is that as the tourney progresses the teams are better known as are their performances. As I said a complete guess.

My big loss today, this. Had traded it very nicely to a big DD green and only tiny MI red but couldn't resist some 6s on DD and didn't cash it back out so lost the lot, albeit that the lot wasn't very much. Has actually been a good day for backing value but then trading for me, not in the sense that I won overall, as I lost £650 on this and only won £150 on the SRH RPS game but was in the sense that I had lovely looking screens on both games and would have won large if either game had gone the other way.
