There's talk of this being a new surface which is likely to offer more assistance to the seam bowlers.
Seems a strange decision to make seeing as how strong the KKR spinners have been over the past few seasons.
Kings XI have been impressive so far this year.
Not enough between the teams to make a confident prediction for me, will look to get on whoever is chasing!

I think KKR bowling is better than Kings although Kings is ok but the dew will help. KKR just need to see off any shine imho and play the way they usually do. 170 is still a good score but I think short by 15, I guess we shall see soon!

BF innings market says "winner" only for runs up to 165. Weird as 170 settled correctly in my P & L .
Kings normally reliant on pace so may negate dew somewhat.

Good move by KKR as far as I am concerned. Uthappa i a good batsman and might have nicked off!

I think he chucks it under pressure. He doesn't bowl it as much and generally when someone comes after him or down the track he uses it but you can see he is not as effective as a wicket taker although he still is a good bowler and can be economical

I always try to remind myself that any green I (sometimes too recklessly) forego to punt up on the slight chance of a twist has the same value as if I lost it elsewhere on a completely unrelated long shot.

True. But somehow the green seems less valuable and we end up wasting it. Betting psychology. All money is equal.

@ detraveller - Yeah, it's funny that, cos if you offer someone a sure loss of £10 or an even flip of a £20 loss versus break-even most people gamble rather than take the sure loss, but if you offer a sure gain of £10 or a toss up between no loss or £20 gain they are averse to taking the gamble. I think I should probably be less conservative when winning instead of greening up, yet I risk too much when behind. Or rather I might increase my position intending to trade out on a swing in my favour, but then I'm often tempted to hang on too long to the now larger hoped-for win instead of redding out for a reduced loss.

I've (most of us) read the book "Thinking Fast etc". I think but not sure that DT is going the other way i.e. doing what theoretically is most profitable. Manflu, alcohol and stupidity prevents me from fully understanding whether you're both saying the same thing.

Well it's a well-known poker adage, Charlie - money you don't lose has exactly the same as money you win. But psychology messes with your perception of that value. I'll make a note to read that book.
On another topic - why don't they offer a "To bat first" market, seeing as winning the toss is random and doesn't guarantee what the toss-winning team will decide to do anyway? Better for hedging a pre-match bet, surely?

If I was a bookie I'd sure like to lay the toss and to bat first at 1.9 each. If you want to bet on to bat first I'll accommodate you at 1.9.
When bf introduced the To Win The Toss market a couple of years ago, the shrewdies didn't catch on initially and I was trading it at crazy prices, and made a fair amount of cash. I can thank Indian astrologers making toss predictions for that.
Not sure why people would bet on this market at all really (unless you get better than evens). If you take a pre-toss match position and then hedge with the toss market isn't that pretty much the same as halving your bet on the original match bet but worsening your commission position?
