Some showers forecast day 1, otherwise fine.

Can't see NZ losing this and a draw looks unlikely. I'll be laying the draw below 5 as Banglas might get a decent start if they bat first.

NZ were 2.7 when the wicket fell

Suppose he can hobble about painfully between balls if he lasts any, that would help kill time

Didn't say the same! Draw went from 1.7 to 2.3 back to 1.9 I think.

Sabbir slashing at a ball he could have left, caught behind. Surely Rahim won't make it back from hospital in time so 1 more wicket ought to end innings.

Yeah they are not letting him back easily in light of the Phil Hughes incident.

Report Fatslogger January 16, 2017 1:13 AM GMT
RRR around 3.5 if wicket goes straight away, chasing 209 off 58. Don't think it's enough runs for long enough to test them unless early wickets fall in Kiwi chase. Make it 220 off 50 though...

Was counting that. So 217 off 57. That's too easy, I fear.

Still Bangla need early wickets to have some chance.

Against a decent attack on a track doing anything you'd think the draw perfectly possible with RRR over 3.5 in a test for over 50 overs but not this attack and this track. They won't even have to take many risks.

They may take at least a few overs to find enough subs too.

Probably needs wickets all the way through. It's possible the openers could start slowly then get out trying to pick up the pace a few overs in, which would be ideal but I don't see it.

The draw was under 4 a few minutes ago and 1.7 a few minutes before that! Test cricket, wow. I'm normally a huge believer in laying my draw green almost all off when the price gets really low but I didn't see this game having a result.
Report tyco161 January 16, 2017 1:36 AM GMT
Now Bangladesh's decision to declare really comes to bite them where it hurts. Declaring at 595/8 was never going to improve their chances of winning the game. They should have hit out and gone for as many runs as they could. Ironically had they had another 30 runs it would have given them a huge chance of drawing or winning this game but its those 30 runs that are going to leave them short today. Sad that a team scoring 595/8 dec is probably going to lose the test.

Thirty runs and 6 overs chalked off would be huge for the draw here, not worth much for the win. Was an odd decision not to hit out, certainly.
