Surprised there's no thread for today's 20/20 extravaganza.Looks as if the weather could ruin the day but in case the rains give the Midlands a miss i'm backing Nottingham to lift the trophy(just a hunch). After perusing the top batsman markets the only real value i could find was the 4/1 on Northants opener Adam Rossington to top bat  and Greg Smith to do the same for Notts @ 8/1(top scored in the 1/4 finals batting at 3).

Really can't see them completing this today and wouldn't be surprised if there's no play at all. There is a rain day tomorrow though. I quite fancy the outsiders Durham.

It's brightened up quite a lot in the last hour so things are looking up. Whether it lasts though is a different matter.

Notts and Torks look phenomenally strong to me, team-wise

Due to start at 1130, amazing really considering the rain they've had

I'm amazed Tom, rained all day yesterday and up until around 9 this morning. Delayed start gives an opportunity to watch Aussies against All Blacks though.

big toss to win with D/L considerations

Sensible thing to do is back Notts so I've backed Northants.

an't oppose Notts. Was lucky enough to get good price pre-toss

Going purely on odds. Notts seem very short.

but market will love them and they have serious annunition batting 2nd. 1.4 could be 1.2 in no time imo, so I can't lay (I got nice price @ 1.6)

Agree with that pj but think a team at 3.3ish batting first is worth a punt.

yes, point taken, good luck!

In the Blast this year teams batting first have won 47% of games so not that big a handicap - weather could be a problem though.

they weren't playing this Notts side!

on paper I can't really see a Northants player who would you swap for a Notts player

that's the problem with these "average" statistics Charlie

That always seems to be the case with Northants though.

you think 1.44 is crazy short for blast t20, then you look down this notts line up, mmm good batters, and then the weather and the bowlers, mmm good bowlers.....

as others have said, northants could go much shorter quite quickly and then there might be some opportunities....

The only point I was trying to make is that betting first is often considered to be hugely disadvantageous and market often moves as if this was the case.

that would be a nice start - tempted to sit on my hands all match

but D/L favours side batting second, and that might well apply here
