Ive had a look at the weather and it looks terrible really. My calculation is we will lose half of the first 3 days. Monsoon rains.
|
|
By:
OK we may not lose that much and the last 2 days looking good now.

I took everything I could on the draw last night down to 2.3 (avg 2.46) and must have triggered off some robots as the move continued and and went odds on?
Also took 7/4 with a couple of bookies. Day 1 is looking like a wash out and I expect the draw to go very short but a result is most likely in Galle. |

Cheers D, What was I thinking??
I check the cricket fixtures 3/4 time a week?? I think I just had Galle in my head as I was on holiday there a few months ago. I'm a very lucky boy. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Might be changing my position. |

I have backed the draw to start with. 2.3

Stan James are going 4/5

Kandy is one of those places where it usually rains late afternoon, and we are more likely to see a Tstorm 4pm than 10am.
|
|
By:
SL too big to lay at 10, but I'll lay them around 5 or 6 if they get there.
Starc says he is back in top form. |

bots hammering the draw price

Looks like Lakmal is out injured too!
|
|
By:
Only traded small amounts so far. I'm hoping it will be raining at 10am and I can go big on the draw at short prices. Although that depends on my assessment tomorrow.
|
|
By:
Go big laying the draw, I mean.
|
|
By:
Yeh there is often a bit for the seamers first up in Kandy. Then it evens out & plays pretty well. As ever, the amount of rain is impossible to determine, unless there are huge bands on the radar.
Also you can see it building up over the jungle and if you have quick pics/reflexes you can snipe a few quid! |
|
By:
I've just traded out for a nice overall green position. Only 10% of my losses from the other two tests, but just wanted to get back to a green screen
. |
|
By:
You don't get as much swings on the prices during the game than we are getting on the draw at the moment :D
|
|
By:
Just hope it's raining tomorrow and everyone jumps on.
This draw price is crazy atm and it's not as if the forecast has been changing. |
|
By:
That 36k on 2.1 has brought everything to a halt

Going by the forecast it looks like very little play days 1+2 so I'm hoping to be on the draw train.
Very hard to price this up but I thought I was taking the value the other night because I was looking at the weather in Galle, very lucky tbh. Got an average of 2.5 with my bookies bets inc. If it's raining tomorrow morning and people see the forecast for the next few days the price will be hammered. I personally will be getting up at 4.30 for this one. |
|

Draw now on big drift, robots kicking in again.
??? Very strange, no change in forecast. |

I have no idea about the weather (some cruel people would say no idea about anything).
I did find Juce's post about backing draw down from 2.3 to 2 interesting and it continued dropping. So I laid draw at 1.87 and it quite quickly went back up and I backed at 2.28. Good start for me. FWIW i don't like the look of the Aussie batting but I really don't rate SL at all. Anything below 9 for SL and i'll be happy to lay. |
|
By:
Yep, laying SL is the safest play.
I fancy Starc and co to take early wickets if SL bat first. If Aus bat first, you (Charlie) may be right about their batting, as they are coming off their winter break. It doesn't look like much, if any, rain day 1 and we could see the draw go out quite a bit with wickets, at which point it will be a back. |

I mentioned in General Betting a few weeks back that I am pretty sure there are momentum bots (which chase market moves) at work on bf these days. Although I think a Test match in Lanka is not a good place to use them. Just my opinion.
It amused me that jucel triggered them as I have been thinking about how to spoof them. |
|
By:
The bots went crazy Sat night. Never seen them go crazy like that before.
|
|
By:
I still remember 4 or 5 years back when a bot kept reloading money at an obviously wrong price in a cricket match. I made quite a bit, but a couple of people made over 10k.
|
|
By:
Will Aus end up batting first whatever happens with the toss?
SL will bowl as Mathews will be wary of losing the game on the first day. Aus normally bat first when they win the toss. Also not sure they would want to bat last, even though history suggests the track gets easier. |
|
By:
Good thinking. The only reason I see of Aus not batting first is if they want to push for a victory at all costs which they obv don't want to do. Srilanka would love to settle for a draw here.

Looking like another Aus train

Australian captain Steven Smith confirmed that the team will field a two-man spin attack consisting of Steve O’Keefe and Nathan Lyon for the first Test against Sri Lanka at Pallekele on Tuesday.
Surprises me a bit, but Smith says the pitch is dry. |
