Although I could call this the KP v Khawaja show.

Thunder are slight favs, which seems justified by their batting lineup. Pundits are saying win toss and chase at the MCG. Hopefully, a good match.

If you fancy the Thunder, rather than back them at evens i would be inclined to back Khawaja to top bat @9/4 because if he fails Stars will win imo.

I didn't point it out to you pxb, but I did smile at your semi thread starter after Khawaja destroyed the bowling. I did agree with the point that you don't want to read too much into form. It's not just about Khawaja and Pietersen but of course they're the main men.

On reflection backing khawaja  to Pick up MOM might be the way to go @13/2 with Coral

My semi comment, Market waiting on whether Khawaja plays for Thunder. He has got some good scores in the comp, but a small sample and I'm not reading too much into it.

I could say the same for this match.

That's the one, yes. I suspect form is a bit of an illusion.

Too much is made of too small samples. OTOH may be statistics don't apply to form.

I think most of form can be explained by random variation and that everyone, including the players subject to that variation, gets sucked in to believing there's something there when there often isn't. Hard to say that there's no such thing as a real run of playing better or worse than your baseline though. Pretty sure that happens too. If I were a clever enough statistician I'd research it. I'm not though and I have a day job, or arguably two if you count the gambling.
