This isn't 1 or 2 who couldn't stand KP it sounds like virtually the whole team didn't/doesn't want him. just not true.
It was true. But some of that changing room has gone now. But given the amount of bullying that supposedly goes on in the England changing room, it's a fair guess that the younger players would be under pressure not to want KP back.

He's half English, half SA, just like Nasser is half English, half Indian!

it is worth noting, that when trust and team bonding must have been an absolute low in the english side, england came as close to beating South Africa as they would manage all series, an achievement that would have given their world #1 ranking true legitimacy, largely down to the performance of Pietersen.
He was also extremely instrumental in our series win in India & our last test match win in Sri Lanka.

The India series win was for me, and i include the away Ashes victory, the greatest win of Flower's tenure.India, so desperate to prove a point about home conditions, bullied some of their most respected groundsmen into producing some of the filthiest wickets ever seen and we still beat them. What's more it highlighted the need for the side to include and embrace more than the simple dogma of conservatism and attrition that Flower championed. You need the attrition and discipline of Cook and Trott and the skill of Swann, but you also have to have the mavericks like Panesar and Pietersen. The two need to co-exist and be nurtured. It was deeply ironic that the side took a massive backwards step as soon as they flew back, and has death-spiralled ever since.
One of my favourite & most profitable series of recent times. I've really enjoyed the Indian home series of recent times, since the Indian Board reverted back to spinning tracks!

The hypocrisy of the English is astounding. They have had plenty of South African and Zimbabwe born players play for them Alan Lamb Robin Smith and Graham Hick to name a few. If you had have relied on English born players in the past you would be on the same level as Holland now.
A lot of players have also been born overseas to English parents. It's part and parcel of a smaller world and the fact we had a massive colony.

He was never going to be picked was he? Pick him and eng win and it's down to k.P pick him and eng lose and it was a 'desperate measure' etc. I saw an interview with an oldish woman spectator who summed it up with something like 'If the English management can't handle a maverick then maybe they aren't good enough to be the English management'. Same goes for the captain.
Think that sums it up very well. KP has probably never been managed very well. While everything was rosy, it didn't matter and nobody probably cared about managing a maverick, but now that things have changed, both KP and English cricket are suffering the consequences.

I don't know about you guys but I wouldn't be able to stand working with a guy that is up himself. I can imagine what those English teammates had to go through. Every 2nd tweet, KP has on Twitter, is 1. about how good he is 2. about how many runs he has scored in the past 3. ridiculing anything related to English cricket. I think that's one thing I learnt about life as well, you don't want to listen to someone ramble on about 'how good they are'. "I have over 13000 international runs! I top scored in my last series...I have 1000's more in me for England!

>He ain't the only member of the England cricket like this though. And secondly, there's not a lot wrong with thinking you're great, when you correctly think you're great. Yes, there's a difference between arrogance and being magnanimous, but it's not like he's a terrible player with a totally over-inflated ego.

you wonder what the newer members of the dressing room who don't or hardly know KP make of it. they must be totally bemusedfor sure if they didn't know beforehand they'll now be very wary of doing anything to upset cook, broad or anderson. that hardly makes for a dressing room conducive to winning cricket matches
Unless they have been living under a rock, they'll know he's a c0ckhead

Don't mind Cook but a can't stand Broad and Anderson. I almost support the other team when they play... which is every game.

sure a lot of this harks back to jealousy over his IPL contract. can guarantee if the likes of broad, anderson, swann and prior had had $1M contracts as well the petty squabbling wouldn't have got out of hand like this
100% agree with this
