They are playing a brand of cricket from 10 years ago and not playing it very well at that. They can't seem to play in any other way - it's not as if there has been any pressure on this wc - no excuses other than being crap and inflexible.

lets hope this will be the beginning of real change in English .. i somehow doubt it though,, jobs for the boys at the top will remain the mantre i am afraid

The way Downton was talking I thought we must have had a semi successful tournament but simply lacked a little luck - did the committee actually watch any of the games

been like this in world cups since 1996...those of you who don't remember our great team of 92 should watch some highlights of that years tournament when we breezed through qualifying to the semis and were quite forward thinking in our team..botham opening the batting to hit over the top early on and then destructful batting and fairbrother working it round then all rounders like de freitas,lewis,reeve and obviously botham with Gladstone small,tuffnell and Illingworth..remember watching that tournament and would never have imagined the next 23 years would turn out like this.
