On paper I seen no contest really, West Indies have been in dire straights for years. I have a fairly sized double going on Pakistan. Any thoughts?

pakistan r also very weak at the moment. their batting is lightweight. opening with younus khan who has a strike rate about the same as alistair cook in odi's which is fairly pathetic. their bowling was the strong point but they are without umar gul and a few others i believe due to suspect bowling actions.

i dont think there will be too much in the game and wi could well be up for it and want to bounce back after a loss to the minnows ireland.

I've got this one down as a flip of the coin match so the 7/5 with Boyles on the Windies has to be the correct play.

just read match preview: pakistan lost 11 of last 13 odi's and wi's lost 7 of last 8 (including losing to ireland)! 2 sh1te teams.

I wish I had bet on Big 8 to qualify - No, before the start of the tournament. It's odds on now and 1 or even 2 could well miss out.

England and Sri Lanka from group A and WI and Pakistan from group B have not been impressive so far. We could see an associate nation team or even 2 in the quarter finals.

West Indies are in dire straits at the moment & Pakistan are fast becoming the worst team of the so called big 8...

This is a massive game for both...

Im going for West Indies here as I think their big hitters will still get them close to 350, whether chasing or batting first, and I just don't think Pakistan have that sort of total in their locker...

Both teams bowling attacks look limited, so it just has to be West Indies for me

would be hilarious to watch both teams trying to 'throw' it ;)

this game wont be fixed...

too many players looking for franchise cricket contracts around the world in the various T20 leagues...

and if Pakistan were caught at it again, they would most likely face a lengthy ban from the international game

i am amazed people are giving the indies a good chance here...........they could not care less.............their bowling against ireland was shocking. they treated it like a practice match.

no bet for me as a betting proposition but at the prices i will have a small bet on windies or interst pakistan are verty short at 4/7

Since the West Indies finished dominating Cricket at the end of 1980's, these 2 sides, have met 34 times in the longer form of ODI Cricket. As it stands its Pakistan 25 wins West Indies 9 wins, so Pakistan are definatly value, to beat a team, that couldn't care less, as they are always in dispute with their own Cricket board

Odds about right, but with both teams in poor inconsistent form, could go either way.

Toss and bat v bowl both important. Back whoever chases IMO.

pak bowling seems much stronger than wi. riaz looks pretty quick & up for it and the leggie shah is a bowler who could put a load of pressure on the wi batsmen in the middle overs. They struggled against some really innocuous "spin" the other day ffs

panther - that is dodgy logic for thinking it wont have fixes in it

If the track is flat it favours windies - far bigger hitters

Definitely no fix. It just doesn't make sense to fix this game

Did Holder say in the interview pre match our focus is pretty much on this game?  Is a start I guess.

Not exactly a game that fills me with confidence with any form holding up to try and get back yesterdays money.  And shouldn't be a game in Brisbane later either.  See how we go.

imo for a fix to be in play, the captain has to be involved. not sure either captain here is on the fiddle. if you watched eng in the last few years you could defo make a case for them as they are pretty much all or nothing. winning or losing by huge margins!

nonsense about captaiin having to be in with it. all you need is one bowler

Nothing guaranteed.  We are flooded 80 kms north, with 250 road closures.  Supposed to get about 300 mm today in Brisbane.  Not sure what they have already got, but we haven't been able to leave the house for days.

i'm talking about throwing the whole game, not just spot fixing

hate betting on weather affected games - it changes so very much

a bent bowler can easily throw a limited overs game by himself. easily

captain can take him off

By:

when would he take him off -- after one over? and who bowls his overs think about it.
Im not saying they can de facto fix it but they can skew so far against his own team it makes an oppo victory far more liklel
By:

need the captain to be involved to throw the game. no way somebody is going to bet a fortune on one player being able to throw a game. too many variables, ie batting/bowling first

is this the worst over ever or spot fixing in the first over of a game??

if a team is 1.6 and you know there it has a bent bowler, then there is more than enough to make it worth your while laying that 1.6
By:

When: 20 Feb 15 22:21
anyway lets hope its not fixed.
By:

the big instances of fixing have involved captains - cronje, butt etc. the ipl seemed to be spot fixing at certain times of the game

I think the Windies will put on a good show. 300
