you need someone who can play spin at 7. i understand planning for the future, but for this series, with india's spinners, you need a good batting all rounder, in either bopara or ali, rather than stokes who seems far too hard hander and jordan who's definitely a bowling all rounder.

it's beyond a joke.
In many ways he's a perfect number 4/5 consolidating in the middle overs nurdling the spinners about at 4 to 5 an over.
Stokes has to go, and be replaced with either ravi or ali.
Happily ditch one of Bell or Root and go with Vince/Taylor.
whilst it was remarked that chris tavare was seen sagely nodding at cook's shrewd words, others who have happened to watch the occasional match being played outside of england in the last decade, were a little concerned by the england captain's assessment of what constituted a good start in the modern game.
