If the weather forecast for Bristol stands up, this will quickly be abandoned early on Monday and only the Completed Match Market will see any activity.

It's an August Bank Holiday in England - so weather as per usual.

Anyone know the latest start to get 20 overs a side in?

I assume there is no reserve day.
Report slip5 August 24, 2014 1:06 PM BST
could have moved this match to a sunday for a day night match, ecb never think ahead
Report joe39 August 24, 2014 1:39 PM BST
Weather permitting, Alex Hales told he definitely plays.

except the fact that if the 20/20 finals day had been rained off yesterday, Anderson, Bell, Woakes, Buttler would have not been available today !
Report slip5 August 24, 2014 10:39 PM BST
it would have been a 2 hour dre for those players and they could have played sunday, even sri lanka changed venue for a one day match against pakistan cause a rain it can be done
Report Vince_Bluett August 25, 2014 12:06 AM BST
It just shows how little faith people have in the accuracy of the met office's forecasts when despite them saying there will be non-stop rain in Bristol for 22 hours from 11pm Sunday and especially heavy rain from 7am-7pm Monday, the price on it being dry enough to have a result in this match is only 7/2. Grin
Report pxb August 25, 2014 1:04 AM BST
Indeed, would take the forecast being drastically wrong to get a CM.

And that isn't going to happen.
Report West Coast Eagles August 25, 2014 1:07 AM BST
what is Bristol like as a town/city?
Report West Coast Eagles August 25, 2014 1:15 AM BST
I would love to visit the UK one day, so much to do, so much history
Report slip5 August 25, 2014 1:21 AM BST
bristol is quite life not busy like london
Report West Coast Eagles August 25, 2014 1:47 AM BST
CMM: Yes 5.10 v 1.20 No
Report West Coast Eagles August 25, 2014 1:48 AM BST
switch your attention to Zimbabwe V Australia....since there will probably be no betting activity on this game
Report slip5 August 25, 2014 2:08 AM BST
should have moved this match to another venue really
Report West Coast Eagles August 25, 2014 3:37 AM BST
only need 20 overs to constitute a game............
Report dom888 August 25, 2014 3:43 AM BST
they need 2 x 20 overs. so thats 3 hours without rain.
Report West Coast Eagles August 25, 2014 3:47 AM BST
Hours of play (local time) 10.30 start, First Session 10.30-14.00, Interval 14.00-14.45, Second Session 14.45-18.15
Report West Coast Eagles August 25, 2014 3:48 AM BST
reading the weather reports, it seems like most of the rain will go away after 4pm.....better to back the team batting 2nd if there is a match on
Report West Coast Eagles August 25, 2014 3:53 AM BST
personally think there will be some action today, should be a rain reduced game..........
Report pxb August 25, 2014 5:30 AM BST
Greened up on the CM market as I will be out for a few hours.

WCE, we may get some play but 3 hours looks remote. Slim possibility of 20 overs early, then 20 late. Most likely pitch is waterlogged and the umps call it off around 3.
Report West Coast Eagles August 25, 2014 6:02 AM BST
any idea if the drainage of the grounds are good at Bristol?
Report jucel69 August 25, 2014 7:47 AM BST
No floodlights either. The radar looks pretty grim to be fair
Report jucel69 August 25, 2014 10:18 AM BST

Report tonyf August 25, 2014 11:21 AM BST
completely free, live 20 miles from Bristol. Solid clouds and rain. No let up. Ground will be saturated even if rain stops. Had all the money I can muster at 1.1
Report tonyf August 25, 2014 11:22 AM BST
Will collapse to 1.04 by 12.00 I reckon

Report tonyf August 25, 2014 11:40 AM BST
People seem to assume that when it stops raining play begins... At least two hours of mopping, then light issue. Frankly a 1.03 price is about right
Report cricketnut2 August 25, 2014 11:41 AM BST
Rain clearing around 3-4pm, with showery rain to follow, is the forecast
Report liam1982 August 25, 2014 11:43 AM BST
if 3.47pm is the cut off point, it might be called off before it clears
Report cricketnut2 August 25, 2014 11:45 AM BST
it, isn't going to clear, followed by showery rain and with the cut off time at 3.47pm, I reckon it will be called off around 2.00pm
Report sunshine1 August 25, 2014 11:51 AM BST
Clearance seems to moving quite quickly up the Bristol Channel, so whislt still very poorly, I'm not sure this one is completely dead just yet.

Report jucel69 August 25, 2014 12:39 PM BST
Im purely playing for the rain stopping and the umpires inspecting! Amazing how often they can squeeze a game in
Report dom888 August 25, 2014 12:40 PM BST

5 minutes later it began to rain. It was 3/1 5 minutes later. lol

Report West Coast Eagles August 25, 2014 1:18 PM BST
Why doesn't Bristol have floodlights? You would imagine every international venue these days would have floodlights as a minimum
Report slip5 August 25, 2014 1:21 PM BST
ridiclous bristol dont have lights
Report West Coast Eagles August 25, 2014 1:25 PM BST
Our man at the ground says: 'An update on when this might be toast. We believe the latest play can start is around 3.45pm and the groundstaff have warned that it will take two hours to mop the ground up, if and when the rain stops. So, with that in mind, the rain probably needs to stop by 1.45pm or an abandonment will be called. Prospects of any play are not looking good.'
