I've no idea how this one will play out. First instinct was for Pakistan as surely they will try and level the series. Noticed that the draw is being backed in a thin market possibly because the forecast is showing light rain on days 4 and 5.
As always I will be looking to green up early preferably during the first day. With this in mind, I've started with a lay of the draw hoping for some early wickets. |

Talk of pak going in with 2 spinners, expecting turn days 4 & 5.
Probably early advantage SL, swinging to Pak later. Although Ajmal has been unimpressive so far. I always like some rain in the forecast. Keeps the draw price down. |

By:
SL win toss and bat.
Don't often see a flipflop on the toss, but quite a big one. At this stage laying the draw. |
By:
Layed pak open software big green thought I missed start and pak 2 for.Big toss.
By:
I have laid the draw too, pxb.
Let's have some enjoyable trading! |
By:
Big toss for Pak to lose. I see them batting 4th inn middle day 4 around 150 down and SL spinners will do the rest.
By:
check out the Sunday forecasts, there's been rain in the region already and may need all 5 days for this one. However, I think SL will like the way this pitch is looking - runs on the board are massive 1st dig.

whats the game plan from here? Sri Lanka look to up the pace of scoring tommorow? and set pakistan a mini target to chase down?

TIMBERRRRRRRRRRRR

Pakistan 6 DOWN
By:
i'm now waiting for 1.3 the draw to trade out at no win no loss as can't really see this ending in anything other than a draw unless it's fixed.

Anyone have any good weather reports for tomorrow? The draw looks good if time is lost!
By:
Some rain looks certain, but forecasts vary on how much. Could see a session lost.
By:
lanka - they are hardly going to declare at ANY stage and let pakistan chase anything. why would they give pakistan a chance to square the series even if it's a ridiculously hard chase?
the way i see it its more likely that if its a result it will be a pakistan win by bowling lanka out for feck all second dig. and that has to be really feck all. if pakistan don't make inroads into lanka batting, lanka like i said will not declare. of course lanka might also bowl pakistan out for feck all after themselves getting bowled out for feck all but i don't see this in the time left and one session maybe lost. famous last words... |

By:
1.30 for the Draw seems pretty high compared to yesterday. Im just wondering would Pakistan go all out attack to win the game if they were set 350 ish with 35-40 overs left in the game
By:
1.40 is still way to high for the draw, technically there is only 115 overs left in the game, nothing in the odds will change unless Sri Lankan wickets occur
By:
I backed the draw early this morning to balance my book ...just can't see a result for either team....Assuming SL get a lead of circa 300 Pakis will just bat out the draw
By:
absolutely dire game in a dire series!
By:
i layed the draw for 100 pounds @3.05 got out @1.22 never look like a result from day one.thinking og backing draw @1.21 to redeem some thing.vic
By:
Draw at 1.20 is big. Sri Lanka will look to bat all day if possible to eliminate any chance of a Pakistan victory. 1.20 safe bet here
By:
yes , angelo mathews isn't gonna make an aggressive declaration cos sri lanka will be more than happy with a series win, they clearly demonstrated that with their snail like accumulation of runs day 4...only way that i can see the draw getting gubbed is if Pakistan skittle the lankans tomorrow morning
By:
Still a chance of a result as day 5 should be spin friendly.
By:
Very dangerous market this. Im red all over with the draw my best result but still a very bad result. I think anything could happen. New ball nearly due and a few quick wickets could see Lanka in trouble.
Pakis chasing 270 from 65 overs and its game on. Alternatively Lanka add 45 runs before lunch without loss and the draw is 1.05. Anybody got a crystal ball? |
By:
I hope you are right stickon as I'm still with my initial pre-match lay of the draw. The potential for an upset is worth leaving the remaining 20% to ride in my view as to completely reverse the position would be expensive and risky. Just hope that Sri Lanka's negativity will turn and bite them on the bum.
By:
This has been an expensive match Foinavon. I reversed my initial draw lay at about 1.65, I just dare not wait any longer and its been a battle ever since.
I had a funny feeling before the match that Lanka may just be so happy with a draw and a series win that it should be a test to totally leave alone and I wish I had. Got to fel for anyone watching that last session today it was a very poor advert for test cricket. If I was playing with pretend money I would lay the arse out of the draw at 1.2 There is still time for me to weaken and do that |
By:
Yes, I was in two minds about my initial bet but gambled on early wickets. Unfortunately the draw only went out to 4 which didn't reach my overnight backs. I also considered bailing out when the draw temporarily went out today in order to reduce liability but left it too long in the hope of more wickets.
Oh well, can't win them all. Hope there will be some life in the wicket tomorrow morning. |
By:
$4,263,867 matched on the Draw at 1.40 or Layer.....I don't usually say this but Draw is free money at 1.40 or less here
By:
^^^^^ 1.40 or Lower
By:
Draw should e 1.04 -1.05 in my book..........
By:
Yep that was exactly what I did wrong. Id laid at an average of 2.86 and I had it in my mind to green up at 5 and walk away. And then the slow grind began.
Pakis will be 2nd fav in a minute!!! wtf |
By:
I miscalculated how long and slowly SL would bat day 2, and have a substantial red on the draw as a consequence.
Not looking to reduce that at 1.20. |
By:
Looks like the bet was to lay Sri lanka at 5.
You may well be right West Coast Eagles. Trouble is I've been around too long to risk hundreds to rescue a few tens, will save my powder for the next battle. |
By:
If the draw is 1.05 WCE what are Lanka and the Pakis in your book I might want to be on. Do you accept Paypal? :)

I was so close to laying a massive amount on the draw on the the second morning at about 2.6. I'm small red on all results but this final day could have a few surprises. For a reminder think of the last test at the Oval 2013. Eng 4 wickets down in the FIRST innings on day 5. Lost 6 fairly quickly then Aus got about another 100 quickly and set Eng 240 ish off 40 overs. Went down to the last few overs with Eng trading 3/1 on at one stage when KP was going strong. This isn't quite the same but a lot can happen on the last day. If I remember rightly the draw was 100/1 on at the start of the day and Eng/Aus in triple figs! Just a bit of food for thought!
