Trott blatently edged into his pad and given out, Agar stumped with absolutely nothing behind the line and given NOT OUT. Perhaps the 3rd umpire should learn the correct laws of cricket

How else did the ball deviate the 2 inches onto his pads? It is quite clear - at the very least there was more than sufficient doubt which is all that is needed. If these had happened against Aussie they would be going mental atm - press and the idiots on here!

i thought agar was out. but i can understand that there was enough margin for error to not give it.
the trott dismissal was dismal. erazmus is a **** on field umpire and worse as a third umpire.
he doesn't understand the process, and is another one who thinks that the decision is being delegated to the third umpire, which is not how the process works.
if dar gave the decision not out on the basis that he thought he nicked it, erasmus could not with extreme certainty deduce that trott did not nick it.
dar may possibly have been at fault because that is the specific question he is responsible for asking erasmus, and if he didn't ask it there's some blame at his door.
the match referee should have overturned the decision during tea as well, as is his remit to do so in when there is a problem with a technology.

some of the stuff written here is absolute nonsense. agar was lucky yes, 50/50 and went his way.
however trott was stone-dead, one of the plumbest lbw's you will ever see. nothing on hot-spot, nothing on snicko, no bad watching it live. sorry folks that was out! the only blunder was dar giving it not out in the first place!!!
just seems like some on here might have lost some money on that wicket and it's affecting their view on the wicket.

lemon - look at the line of the ball against the lines on trotts pads before and after the bat, note where the ball hits the pads and tell me there is no deviation! The stumping was plain as, as well.

i. snicko's not used and besides there was a sharp line.
ii. nothing on hotspot?
of course there was nothing on hotspot, you couldn't see the correct angle. you would never see any edge from that front on angle.
it's entirely that fact that makes it such a poor decision, because without that view you cannot be confident enough to overrule the umpire's decision.
fatty espazzmus was making the decision based on what he thought, not doing what he should have done which is being stone cold certain, backed up with clear evidence, that dar was wrong.
which is what he needed to do and he didn't.

erasmus has overruled the decision based on a lack of evidence.
that's not what he's supposed to do.
he can only overrule when there is clear evidence to prove that the decision was wrong.

dar is either having a shocker or something else is going on...
trott was plumb, not out. broad was out lbw not offering a shot, not out. broad smashes the ball, caught at slip not out
haha horrendous

I still make that the Aussies are 100 + runs up on umpiring decisions . England are clearly by far the better team and the Ashes will be staying at home .

Broad, was not out, on the LBW decision today, the ball was going on to miss off stump and agree with A.H.Hunter esq, that the ashes are staying, with England, for this series at least.

Broad is a cheating dog and giving the caught behind not out is the worst decision in cricket umpiring, in this or any other test. Any suggestion the Aussies have had the better of it is nothing but idiocy spurned by patriotism. Arguing the opposite is utterly futile.

rhino you have a short memory, Michael Clarke got even more bat on one than Broad and didn't walk having and was given not out in one match against us, fortunately we had a review up our sleeve.
second coming, good to see you outside the aussie forum, you don't give your countryman Agar enough credit, he's miles superior to a no 11. looks a quality, quality all-rounder in the making to me and very technical correct batsman.
in this test we are clearly significantly behind on poor decisions, if the agar stumping had been given it was effectively game over for you guys. the trott dismissal is such poor officiating it is mind-boggling. not just Erasmus but also the match ref failing to over-turn decision at tea.
DS above has it spot-on and very articulately so, imo.

you guys seem so absolutely certain there was no doubt Agar was stumped with absolutely no indication what so ever he made it back
I am not so convinced and BOD has always gone to the batsmen in those situations

Happy Valley murgutpura - I think you are right in terms of the thinking behind giving Agar not out when he was out.
and a two faced Fkn dill
Hey Nappy Valley, how's your alterego, ALLBLACK ?

Yep he should have walked. He started to, not sure why he stopped, he knew he was out. Poor form indeed, can only think he was waiting for a no ball bail out perhaps as starting to walk with his head down is a confession. Is that meant to change my opinion on Broad? It doesn't. I don't base my opinions on mindless, patriotic vitriol like those on here that relentlessly whinge about umpiring when clearly they haven't been hard done by in the slightest, and labelling my countrymen as scum when your boys aren't exactly feckin angels are they... What is it they say about glass houses and stones?

yes it is quite incredible behaviour on his part, incredulous, he must have thought it was such a faint nick that the cameras will miss it and without me, we'll never get the runs so i'd better take a chance
and of course another example to show that taking the moral high ground over such issues as walking in cricket is futile

logroller and doubleagent, are you that insecure.
Happy comes up with a terrific thread and a very important one. Your replies are rude. He bats you back into touch which irks you. He also seems to have a decent command of the English language of which you seem envious, and your only resort is to be lavatorial or adopt the stance of the schoolground bully.
Good on you Happy for holding your ground and persevering with good, very enjoyable thread. I'd forgotten all about this upcoming appeal and the possible consquences.
Very LTU - I agree with you. I think vested interests will prevail. Sadly.

i don't bother to post, usually, because of what is it Happy calls you, yes ignoramuses like you and let's face it, you are really one and the same, Spoon, Log, DoubleAgent
Amongst other things, Happy makes it very clear to me the problems of operating on low margins and making a proper contribution to racing and the inherent contradiction therein.
You babble along your endless, witless insults and are guilty of your own accusations, no meaningful, positive contribution, just destructive insults that eventually bring all interesting, worthwhile threads to a halt and act as a general barrier to intelligent, meaningful discussion on this and other forums
