This is simply the worst Australia team of all time. They have just been beaten 4-0 by India, and half the players selected for the Ashes were not deemed worthy of a place in that squad. It will need all of Sky's hyping skills to make this series a goer. A squalid, rancid outfit, who will be lucky to win a warm-up game.

liked what bruce millington said about it in the post today. he can write a lot of rubbish but comparing them to contestants on celeb big brother (who the feck are they ?) was quite amusing

Actually quite a strong side, if they stay injury free a 5-0 drubbing will be on the cards.

Doesn't look that terrible to me. Lyon is admittedly useless & if conditions dictate they have to replace a seamer with him it will be a negative for Oz. They have at least got rid of the Twenty 20 players from this Test squad.
Let's not forget too that all far from hunky dory with England. KP must be a big doubt now & Swann also not confirmed his well-being.
Oz got at least a punchers chance in seamer-friendly conditions as England won't do the sensible thing & prepare spinning tracks.

aussies should select a agressive batsman like cameron white

they just ain't gonna get anywhere near enough runs to be competitive. time and time again in the last 2 or 3 years they've been found wanting whenever there's been any movement at all. even the sri lankan medium pacers rolled them over for 70 at home in the winter

other than clarke i'm not sure any of the others would make the england top 7. maybe warner but his loose technique will probably not be suited to english conditions

it is probably the best they could have turned out. And England should win. But remember 1989 before getting carried away...

not sure why everyone keeps going on about 1989. the 1985 squad was far far worse and by 1989 they'd shown signs of improvement. they won the 1987 world cup for a start.

in any event despite having some big name players england were a poor side in the mid to late 1980s. in fact the post chappell, marsh and lillee aussie side was the only proper team we were capable of beating

This Aussie squad the worst Ashes squad since....the poms in 2006/07. NOTHING  could be worse than that,  How the likes of Charl Langeveldt could not get a game in that team is beyond me. 

Best Australian squad in years. If you guys think England win this easily you're deluded.
