I could have made a packet laying that CMM market when I noticed. Only reason I had it open was to protect my green on match odds the first time the lights went out. Absolutely gutted.

You didn't even need to be at the ground. Was sub 1.10 when lights were clearly off. But I hate trading on CMM market - it's one of those markets when you know someone almost always knows more than you.

cmm does seem very short given that the ground staff have been and still are loitering by the large cover, presumably fully aware of the rain that's coming.

Quite. Only something sensible like discipline is telling me not to go for a full bank lay. Even though I suspect this game won't even restart and it would be the best bet I ever make.

8.00 pm, The situation explained by Andrew Fernando: One generator runs two floodlight towers, the computer card (I have no idea what this is!!) in the first one went out, then they started running the towers on the backup generator, which later went out too. Now they are moving the backup generator for the other two towers to the other side of the ground to couple them with the two towers. And life goes on....

there's rain about, and from this: One generator runs two floodlight towers, the computer card (I have no idea what this is!!) in the first one went out, then they started running the towers on the backup generator, which later went out too. you can only infer that if they have any more problems, there's nothing they'll be able to do.

By the way, we have been losing overs for the last 20 mins (since 7.45 pm) at the rate of an over every four minutes. But we will know the exact details later...

id say the 238 off 41 is slightly difficult..........pitch conditions havent changed, surface has probably deteoriated a bit more, but ground conditions pretty much the same...........

thats what i don't get about these sorts of situations , why does it take 20 minutes to get them out there from when the floodlights came back on ...can only happen in cricket

Players should have been ready as soon as the lights came back on. The groundstaff knew what the problem was and how to fix it. They should have had some sort of inclination when it was coming back on. Five or ten minutes to get on maybe, but it's now been 25 minutes at least.
