Northbuoy, I'd be interested to know if you base your position on a gut-feel of what you think should happen or you have actually done the analysis on all games and arrived at Clarke.
Clarke missed 15 T20 games. Of those, during the T20 world cup and warm-ups, there were 6 games in a row where Shane Watson was clearly the man of the match for Australia in 5 and possibly all 6. (The scorecards are there for all to see on cricinfo). This is the equivalent, from an AB medal scoring perspective, of Clarke's consecutive 200s vs SAF. These two two tests were the only times this year where Clarke got maximum points. His other tonne vs SL was overshadowed by Mitchell Johnsons performance.
Watson also had 3 other MOM perfomances (1 in T20 and 2 in ODIs).
Warner's case is just as compelling. 4 MOM perfomances in T20 plus other scoring contributions. He has also scored heavily in ODIs and Tests

methinks they'll be changing the rules if clarke doesn't win
farcical that a bit of a slog can count the same as a double against a great attack
by a million miles their best player and just about the only one who causing the england bowlers to lose any sleep
