I live in Australia, have gone to GB to trade the English cricket several times. Now I'm looking for somewhere a little warmer, with beaches and preferably surf, must be able to get fast reliable internet and sky tv (or cricket pics).

Does anyone know of such a fantasy land ? I have heard of ppl trading cricket from spain, I am interested to hear of any exotic places anyone out there has successfully traded from or imagines might be good to do so from. :)

Head to Goa, at that time of the year it is not expensive or overcrowded. ENglish cricket does not hve much of a lag (Aussie Test and ODI series had a 2 ball lag this year) but you have to cancel your bets between balls or rather when a pace bowler starts his run up, all of Star Cricket which will be available in all hotels. If there is a slight lag you can have TMS on Bet365 commentary on.

enough to do when no cricket around the Baga Beach area, get out by October when it starts getting crowded

Probably pay a bit more that 100 Quid lix for an Airconditioned room in a hotel (100 Quid an apartment I am not sure where) but Lanka also a good option as mentioned by Lix

Be carful with Europe for BF as they are withdrawing from some countries due to regulatory reasons.

There's a thread on General Betting that keeps this info updated.

Thanks for your replies, It is not as easy to find a decent place with fast internet and cricket pics as you would think !!

Goa sounds like a decent option do you know of any parts or specific accommodation rohit ?

Mad dogs what do you know about portugal ?

Peckerdunne North west of ireland is probably a lot like cornwall where i have spent the last few summers, might be worth a visit though.

Any more advice would be greatly appreciated

I've looked into this before and as you say it's not easy! There are so many hurdles for you to consider here. Can you get reliable internet connection? Count most of South America and Africa out. Is Betfair banned or will you be able to keep using Betfair in given country for the forseeable future? Apart from Britain the whole of Europe would have to be suspect and places like South Africa are already banned. Timezone differences to England? Count the likes of China, Thailand, Korea and New Zealand out unless you enjoy working through the night. Then there's all sorts of costs associated with moving to a country you know little about, not to mention language barriers.

So that leaves Canada, Britain, the Sub-continent and a few others as reliable options. Brazil and the Carribean would be ideal options as they have the beaches you're after but not sure if Betfair can be used from these places??

Think the biggest hurdle in India would be a reliable internet connection. I was in India a few months back and found wireless internet to be slow at times. But fixed line internet could be fine and I guess that's what you would be using... However if you are having issues with internet don't expect anyone to fix it in a hurry!

And what about Katmandu? It's not near the beach but trading from the Himalayas would have to be appealing!?

Get a mobile internet USB, the best is Tata Photon, I traded the IPL 2012 and the Ashes 2010 with my laptop under a sun umbrella with a cold coffee and Pork Sausages when someone was massaging my feet on the beach in Goa :-). Works very well in the hotel and most parts of the beach (Have also streamed live coverage with it).Get the prepaid Tataa Photon as you probably do not have address details in India.

Stay in North Goa, Baga Beach the best area, very touristy and tons of restaurant etc. April-August you can easily get something for 30-40 quid a day, airconditioned with a TV near the beach, wiithout Aircondition under 15 quid a day. Try Yatra.com and makemytrip.com for Goa hotels
