Watching the video and it looks like there are just a couple of patches that the umpires are directing the super sopper to go and mop up. Should be underway soon, then!
Odds on CMM have come in too! 1.5s. Once match starts I imagine we'll see 1.1s pretty soon after... 
Must be a lot of people in the completed match market who are not watching the telly and just relying on cricinfo for their betting decisions. Cricinfo is a great source of info when you don't have video but is always a few mins late...

Seems that the punters behind all that money that was laying a completed match at 1.7s are in denial... They're trying to push the market back up to 1.6s... Good opportunity to load up!

Yes, that is an alternative but it only looks dark because it is late. Not all clouds are necessarily rain clouds...
its often very cloudy here in hambantota...i remember india vs lanka this year being played for 100 overs in worse conditions

I agree. It's clear there's plenty of rain about - not a gamble I'd want to be taking without "local" knowledge right now.
I do. Every time the video has shifted to a vista of the ground with dark clouds the market has shifted.
And yet the match goes on. I like the fact that the video shifts to "dark" clouds... Means I get to top up at 1.8s before I inevitably get to lay at 1.3s and 1.4s...

The CMM No bettors might be right or they might have proper info, but I do think they're guessing on the fact that night and clouds = dark clouds = rain. As you say, it's a dangerous market to potentially be in, which is why I'm not really in it, but I also think the money is guessing.
CMM market is invented for guessing. You ask any weather forecaster how hard the weather is to predict.

And that's why it is so good to trade. Personally, I normally lay completed match once I have decent profit in the match odds market. But usually at 1.1s and below. It's good insurance. Noone in their right mind should be laying it at 1.7s though before the match has even started. That's just crazy!!
Has this series been between Sri Lanka and New Zealand or Sri Lanka and rain.

Looks like I might be kissing goodbye to whatever little green I'd already amassed. Ought to have bought some insurance at 4s on the CMM but easy in hindsight.

If they resume now, I think we'll be straight into Sri Lanka innings. But I doubt there's much more time they can lose now.

8.00 pm We are still getting news that it hasn't stopped raining, so it might be a while before we get going, if at all. TV commentator Roshan Abeysinghe has meanwhile tweeted that it has stopped raining, but the covers are staying on.

Not sure about the prospect of a result. Cricinfo reckons they have to be re-started within 90 minutes to get a result but it takes an hour to get the ground ready. That only allows 30 minutes error and/or more rain.
This entire series has pretty much been a washout. I've seen screens of green washed out anyway. Very frustrating how long it takes to get a game going again after again break.
This is Sri Lanka's rainy season. Really surprised they got as much play in the T20 World Cup. And surprised they've organised this series for now.

No nigel. No way I end up mug now because I spent all day backing a completed match at 1.6s and higher and just kept laying at 1.3s and lower. The match could be abandoned right now and I still win!!!

No! You may well have made money this time. The point is that it might have gone the other way - it was a total gamble. The weather isn't predictable.
