Because they lost the game if it rained, and they realised they were going about it the wrong way and had to turn it on, rather than play their natural shots.  They really just played it bad from the start.  Needed to play like they were batting first.  **** me why chasing teams don't just do that.

And you are certainly not alone Raja.  It is much easier to predict the play than the weather.  Only sure thing with rain is the team in front gets crunched.  Better to be on as close to the start as you can.

nigel you back a few winners here mate

The collapse was initiated by jawardene when the rain started and he seemed too focused on how much Sri Lanka were behind the DL. They could never have got ahead of the DL so its seems pointless being worried about it. A lot of teams are rightly crticised for falling behind the DL when its a factor in the result but in todays final Dl with never going to be relevant. They seemed to really panic when the rain started but if they had disregarded DL they were still in a good position at that stage with some big hitters to come.

Disgusting performance by Sri Lanka really a losers performance, Malinga ruined the match for them being the difference in the two sides he was as effective as Doherty when they didn't put their star man from the other night Herath, I think one should lay this side they depend on old talent which is starting to look old this was a poor performance with the bat, West Indies did nothing special Sri Lanka threw this away like a bunch of mugs and in the process cost me 4 figures but regardless of the result I never though West Indies would win probable the poorest team to win a major tournament since I can remember really....anyways they did so one has to move on however annoying and unjust it might feel!

i know they where 51 for 2 after 10, if they played sensible cricket they could have set up a chase of 45 runs in last 5 overs with at least 6 wickets in hand
