Hopefully that is the end of him. Utterly hopeless and out of his depth.

he's the best bowler in the side

I have lost count of the amount of times I have said get rid of him on here.
Flower's golden boy obviously!!! |

Must have some sort of hold on the selectors?
|
|

he is worth it for his bowling/fielding alone imo
shouldnt be trusted up the order though but more than a capable 6 at this level |

Has there been a worse player who has played 116 games for England in all international cricket?

retarded to put him in at 3 today. his bowling may be useful in SL tho

wouldn't have a problem if he batted at 7 or 8. Worst thing about it is that he'll be batting at 3 in the T20 world cup ffs.
His arrogance gets to me as well, he complained before about people questioning his position in the team before. Maybe if he averaged more than 30 and had a strike rate of more than 75 that wouldn't be a problem |

He is just an average cricketer who has had more chances than i have had hot dinners!
Time and time again when pitched against a strong bowling attack and in a pressure situation this guy has failed and failed and failed. Yes his bowling is ok, but I thought he was in the team as a batsman who bowled if needed? Also his fielding is not great and comes across as a "dunce" with his decision making as a batsman and fielder. But don't worry he is Flower's golden boy so he will still be selected! |

he isn't an average cricketer - what a ridiculous statement.
I have seen him play some remarkeable innings in all forms of the games he is obviously in terrible form with the bat but that happens to all players. I feel Bopara is a difference maker but they use him in the wrong role. He should be used at 6/7 with his bowling. His batting isn't good enough for test match cricket imo against the top sides to bat in the top 5 but he could easily bat 6/7 if they feel his bowling would be useful in the test side (ala Collingwood) |

I was referring to his performances in an England shirt - ie average, no different to Ramprakash there.
As a county cricketer he is good, but AVERAGE up a level. Is that a ridiculous statement? |

I would like to add that in the past I have thought that maybe he might make the transition from county to country.
However the time has come for some of the younger emerging players to get their chance as I believe Bopara has had more than enough chances now. |
