New ground only built in 2010. Only two tests played both hugely rain affected. From the limited info it looks a result deck. Can remember some decent turn on day 1 vs WI there. Even mug mendis was spinning em. Those matches were played in December when a huge monsoon depression washed out 3 tests and Sept.
Will have to see what my local contact makes of the weather this week  |

The ground has been raining last few days . Wonder will rain be a factor again this test game ? Don't rule out rain though . Poor start by pakistan though . Seems to have settled down for now though .

not sure , but commentators has been yapping about rain at this area since start of commentary . And there's drizzle in the air now .

looks like there's a chance of losing some time tomorrow and tuesday but would be minimal I'd say especially as they can start earlier to make up time :

pakistan was also like that at the start of their innings . Even stevens now . Pakistan might be the fav given the fact they already have runs on the board now .

SL still have the edge I'd argue given the new ball effect will wear off. A few early wickets and it's totally in PAK's hands though. Should be a great game this and minimal chance of a draw.
