Looks very likely to be a shortened game. I'm keeping my powder dry for now.
By:
gonna be some rain about. fancy a game tho and will probably back whoever bats 2nd.
By:
Didn't like the way Essex batted 2nd v Surrey exactly 7 days ago so will be looking to oppose the Chelmsford set tonight!
By:
CMM has collapsed in the past hr. looks like we'll get a game in now. worth keeping an eye on the radar tho
By:
looks like we'll get the 1st innings in. chance that more rain could hit around 8pm.
By:
G Napier should be batting at three for the eagles...well worth a tenner @ 10s with spoilsports/baldy...scored 20 last night against Kent .

monster system swirling about over the south west/channel at the mo , but making its way eastwards ...
www.raintoday.co.uk we should get the first innings in , but the chase could well be curtailed ... in these sort of situations , we all know that 6 overs a side constitutes a result , but we could play maximum of 25.5 overs and still get an NR if the rain hit after 5.5 overs of the chase ...why don't the umps see sense and decide to play 12 a side or something ...anyways , we shall see , but Im not backing CMM yes at 1.2x |
By:
5 overs for completed match isn't it?
By:
o yeah greaves , I meant 5 overs
![]() |
By:
the point I'm trying to make is that we could have 24.5 overs completed and still have a NR

Middlesex team
CJL Rogers, JL Denly, AM Rossington, DJ Malan, NJ Dexter*, GK Berg, JA Simpson†, OP Rayner, SP Crook, TS Roland-Jones, TMJ Smith Essex team ML Pettini, JEC Franklin, GR Napier, RN ten Doeschate, T Westley, JS Foster*†, AJ Wheater, GM Smith, TJ Phillips, DD Masters, RJW Topley If this pitch has been used 3 or 4 times already, you'd expect spin to play a role. Middx have Rayner, Smith, Malan and Denly, while Essex have only Phillips and, possibly, Greg Smith, who sometimes bowls off breaks rather than seam up. |

hmmmm well weird why odds are so low on essex it is a 20-20 game afterall
By:
i think these are strange odds
By:
6 runs after 9 balls and down 10 ticks lol
By:
Not liking the look of this. Essex price falling with dot balls.
By:
Laying Essex M.sex are not bad site at all, will be get fav soon then will get Square off boths side
By:
PR Stirling isn't playing today for Middlex and that could be one of the main reason for drop in odds.
By:
in addition to that, their opener Denly is in bad form too
By:
The Stirling absence has been known for several months, ever since the Ireland vs Australia game was arranged. Doesn't explain why the Essex price contracted after the game had started.
Anyway, Shah's absence is at least as big a problem for Essex, and they have their share of out-of-form batsmen too (step forward Ryan ten Doeschate). |
By:
He might at least have pretended to dive for that.
