Looking Forward to this, aiming to carry on the momentum i built up in IPL 5, hope the rain relents and its gonna be my prime betting medium in the next month!
Hope the "Fix"erati (of which I am not a member) of are heard less on this than they were on IPL5! |
|
By:
ah ... my mistake. cheers maf.
|
|
By:
Lix you about now?
|
|
By:
Anyway Surrey are still a best price 15/2 on betfair fixed odds!
|
|
By:
think surrey and notts are strong as you said Lix, fancy Somerset as well. Even without Gayle they've got a very good batting line up of Kieswetter, (Trescothick when he gets back from injury), Levi, Compton, Hildreth, Trego, Buttler, Albie Morkel which is better than any in the tournament imo. Decent bowling as well with Alfonso Thomas being one of the best T20 seamers around
|
|
By:
Zum have just signed KOB as well
![]() Ridiculous batting line up now. may well smash 250+ at Taunton this year. Levi Tres Kies KOB Trego Buttler Albie Dockrell Alfonso Gregory Kirby |
|
By:
just looked that up, apparently he's signed for first 5 matches, which I assume is until Trescothick's available. Levi and Albie could really smash some of the sh1te bowlers in the competition
|
|
By:
Awful northern group eh?
Can somebody remind Lix which team won last year and what group they came out of ![]() |
|
By:
just make sure you green up on zum before finals day starts though

any veteran in here ? Need to mug up some mullah money now |

By:
I see there are now 3 groups so presumably less games?
How did Somerset end up in the midlands group?! |
|
By:
it's gone back the original format and groups. the midlands and west group has always been a bit of hotch potch. northants look the most out of place geographically if you ask me
it's a very weak group. somerset should stroll it |

Zum have just signed KOB as well Ridiculous batting line up now. may well smash 250+ at Taunton this year. Levi Tres Kies KOB Trego Buttler Albie Dockrell Alfonso Gregory Kirby Will be shocked if we see Lewis Gregory again any time soon. His bowling has gone to pieces this year after his back problems, and his batting makes you wonder why he ever called himself an all-rounder. Much more likely to see Craig Meschede or even the 18-year-old giant Craig Overton. The latter bowls stingy seam-up from above the sightscreen, and has already smashed a quickfire 50 in the Ch'ship with his side in difficulty. |
|
By:
well i did put that line up there on purpose for you to correct me screamers ..
![]() Appreciate the info. cheers |
|
By:
Back in March, Hills were 16-1 Somerset to score 260 or more in a T20 this year. I'd settle for 2-1 now

Craig Overton has an identical twin brother, Jamie, who bowls much faster than Craig, but is a bit agricultural with the bat. If I were in charge at Zum, I would always select one of them, but keep both in the dressing room and switch them around according to the match situation.
The only way of distinguishing them is that Craig wears a wristband. |
|
By:
Some more thoughts on that Zum line-up. They'll lose Kieswetter to England after tomorrow's match. Buttler is in the England T20 squad, so Steve Snell, the Champions League wicket keeper, is at Taunton right now to deputize.
Nick Compton is also likely to play. He hit 118 off 47 balls in 2ndXI T20 at Glamorgan yesterday. Finally, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Trescothick again this year. The protective boot is still on his ankle. That should come off later this week, then there'll be tests and only if they look good can he think about getting fit again. |
|
By:
certainly not much reason to rush him back after the T20 games. out of the sunday league and not in contention for the championship nor any realistic chance of getting relegated.
|
|
By:
I would not discount the Ch'ship if Trescothick were able to return 100% ready in time for Zum's next game on 18 July - it's at home to Warks.
My guess at the likely Zum lineup for tomorrow evening's T20 at home to Warks: R Levi C Kieswetter P Trego J Buttler J Hildreth A Morkel K O'Brien C Meschede A Thomas G Dockrell S Kirby It's possible that Buttler might wear the gloves, so Kieswetter can play as the second spinner: http://www.thisissomerset.co.uk/Somerset-CCC-use-Craig-Kieswetter-bowler-Twenty20/story-16274563-detail/story.html |

I have Levi & Morkel down as part of the SA squad to play in the tri series t20 comp v zim and bang in zimbabwe starting on the 18th Screaming, can you confirm if both the Saffers are available for zum for the whole tournament or not.
|
|
By:
Pietersen not in the squad for tonight's Surrey game. Surely with it being 2 days (3 effectively) since the test finished and no up coming internationals for him he would be available straight away.
That said the Surrey squad looks very good Rory Hamilton-Brown (capt), Jason Roy, Steven Davies, Mark Ramprakash, Zander de Bruyn, Matthew Spriegel, Zafar Ansari, Gary Wilson, Murali Kartik, Gareth Batty, Stuart Meaker, Jade Dernbach, Dirk Nannes |
|
By:
Levi and Morkel were signed on the basis they would miss Zum's most difficult game (at Warks on 21 June) and their easiest (at home to Glumbabwe the next evening). Haven't heard anything to change that situation.
Albie was in form with the bat and the ball against Gloucs at Taunton Vale Sports Club yesterday, though Pete Trego apparently quickly left him trailing when it came to smashing it into the car park.I didn't see that game, only the first one, where Levi looked rather cautious scoring 30-odd - perhaps he wanted time in the middle. Kieswetter was the big hitter here, and the best bowler was the leggie, Max Waller. The latter's in the squad tonight as usual, but will no doubt be 12th man as usual. A few sunny spells, but mostly rather overcast in Taunton today. Rained overnight, but dry so far today. |

Collingwood out with a broken hand. big loss to Durham, his bowling was unplayable in many games last year
![]() .. no really! |

Lix what's your thoughts on the non tv games today?
Shaun Marsh looks a good addition to the Glamorgan side while North can be good on his day. don't know a lot of the others that well though. Northants team looks alright, some decent bowling and Cam White will be handy if he can start how he finished off in the IPL. Fancy Surrey over middlesex but would like to see the Surrey squad for todays game before comitting anything. in the Derbyshire game...is Khawaja much of a T20 player? Naved might be a decent addition, generally been a good T20 bowler. Lancs squad looks pretty handy though. |

A lot of love for Somerset after 1 game and 1 abandoned game! down from 7's to 5's.
had backed them at 8 but fancy surrey for the tournament in the long run. Somerset will no doubt be in the knock out stage and probably finals day though |
