Broad could replace Philander, Swann for Ajmal perhaps?  have I made any glaring errors/omissions?  KP or Warner possibly, Sanga or Samaraweera or Younis Khan?  Chanderpaul?

wouldn't have philander anywhere near it at this stage. only played a handful of tests on some of the most sporting decks you'll ever see against poor batting line ups so far. a lot to prove still for me. been pretty awful for somerset so far.

I just rely on newspaper and internet reports thanks to sky's monopoly so you could well be right.  he averages below 20 in first class cricket though and close to thirty with the bat.  50 wickets at about 15 is a pretty awesome by anyones standards post war.

Sanga over Jaya. Far better in bouncy and swinging conditions. Jaya a bit of a bully. WOuld prefer Watto ahead of Smith as an openor.

Clses between KP, AMla and Clarke. All of them can do the job so it would depend on the opposition and conditions

Maybe open with Amla and play KP ahead of Clarke.

I would swap Smith for Amla and he can open with Cook.  Chanderpaul is current number 1 so he has to be there.  I would swap Clarke and De Villiers for Chanderpaul and Sangakara.  The bowlers are looking good though I think you have the best three seamers there.  Ajmal very good although tough call between him and Swann.  Kallis is the best allrounder and Prior the best wickie

totally forgot about Amla, I didn't spend an awful lot of timing thinking up the list in fairness.

Current world XI... Sanga... ??? Shocked

He's in probably the worst form of his life.

Watched him in the nets in Galle in the test series and he was playing and missing every other ball.. Sad

tbf, he was batting on a patch of dirt.

Clarke and hussey unlucky to miss out, swann unlucky to miss out for ajmal, jayawardene probably just behin clarke or kp for the numer 4 spot. Broad just pips phillander as he's done it in all conditions and probably a slightly better bat. Kallis also fighting with, kp, clarke and mahela for that number 4 slot. Amla just beats trott and sanga to the number 3 spot.

So on that analysis cook, smith, chanders, de villiers, prior, steyn and anderson only players in the side that are certs imo.
