Smith took two touches over the boundary while the ball was in his hand. Otherwise you could run 50 yards over the boundary catch it in midair and throw it at the same time.

its like a football team going 5 -0 up and then saying is it worth having half time?

not really, because they have a break after 9 overs or whatever. and in a football match it would end in 45 minutes, this is obviously going to end soon. ask both batsmen and fielding capt ain if they're happy not having a break then get the game over and done with.

obviously the real reason for needing two breaks is to get as much advertising in as possible
