That shot put looks kind of small in her hands:

It's not as if she has suddenly improved either as she's been there or thereabouts for the last 3/4 years, 2nd in the Worlds last year. Her and NZ's Adams were comfortably ahead of the rest of the field as well last week. I must admit watching this I thought Adams would beat this field anyway. Good games for the Kiwis.

this person should be banned for life
she denied a winner from receiving her medal, seeing her flag and hearing her national anthem played in the stadium in addition the bronze medalist was denied standing on the podium and seeing her flag raised this alone deserves a permanent exclusion imo |

I backed Valerie Adams. Does anyone know whether I will get paid out?
|
|
By:
no, medal ceremony counts for bets being paid
|
|
By:
Must be completely gutting for those who missed out on a medal because of this.
|
|
By:
well eventually the right result was achieved in this event
but we can only guess how many medal winners had been cheating by using pharmaceuticals in their preparation and were not caught I suspect it's quite a few |
|

I agree should be life ban, but at the very least, previously banned athletes should be made to wear something distinctive during competition, so spectators know what they are seeing, you just don't undo the benefits accrued from some drugs, even after a 2 year ban.

Saw some medals tables rearranged by things like per capita and GDP and bar 'freak' tiny countries like Grenada,
New Zealand were someway clear at the top of the table of recognised sporting countries |

False, she suddenly starting throwing well over 21 metres in July. Was throwing a good 5% further what seemed overnight. Hadn't beaten Adams in years and then come Olympics time she's throwing a good half metre over Valerie. |

she had 3 pbs in a row between june and july,

Does it normally take over a week to get the test results for doping?
|
|
By:
might be done within 3 or 4 days, I also wondered if they had held it back till after the end of the games

Haters gonna hate. Alls that matters is I got paid

Has Paddy Power paid out on Adams yet?
|
|
By:
should be a rule that if the winner has been dq'd later on then if the winnings have been paid out already you can't take em back but should refund those who bet on runner up.
|
|
By:
Yeah bookies will love that rule. Just need to do your due diligence on who's juicing.
|
|
By:
Has anyone had a refund at all?
I find it hard to believe that no bookmaker would void a bet placed on Adams. It probably all goes down to how much of a loser you are to that firm though sadly. |

One of many tainted "Winners" in the most rancid sporting event on earth

Token disqualification at the end of the games in low profile event to "prove" doping controls working.
Authorities hardly going to want to out a star in major event again. |

read today that 5 athletics medal winners from Athens 2004 will be stripped off the medals this week

have to correct myself, not all of the 5 are supposed to have won medals

that Belarussian 'woman' is the most manly looking woman I have ever seen. There was nothing remotely female about her appearance.

you must have missed the 800 with Semenya

when asked about her being stripped of the gold medal her reply was "this has come as a real kick in the balls for me"

i backed Ostachuk to win the gold
, TFFT...semenya could have easily destroyed the 800 field if she'd wanted to , I just reckon she threw it on purpose for fear of further finger pointing surrounding her gender ambiguity , I feel for her actually... |
