does anyone else think he can become a major force over the next four years?
I know there's lots of competition but he seems to have all the attributes to become a champion, if he stays injury free,  to me.

He might be the best from these shores but he has a long way to go yet.

Yes I do.  Think I'm right in saying he was 2nd quickest European junior ever (behind Lemaitre) and at just 18 years old must have a serious future.  Should crack 10 sec soon. Seems a pleasant, level-headed bloke too.

There looks plenty to work on though. He's a raw talent and, despite the monumental feck up in the relay tonight, I was very impressed how he ran them down from, what ended up, an almost standing start.

Don't know.  Hope so but I have two names for you.

Mark Lewis-Francis
Harry Aikines Aryeetey

Impossible to predict which young athletes will emerge from brilliant junior to world class performer.

if he were a horse he would be described as a precocious 2yo

think he lacks scope to go very fast, european champs and commonwealths, make an odd final here and there

a long list of british junior's who have never quite made it as senior's at a world level

Is that the Commonwealth games that Jamaica and Trinidad boycott?
Report nif August 10, 2012 11:06 PM BST
no but they will send their third string
Report Underpants Gnome August 10, 2012 11:10 PM BST
Tyson Gay has been full of praise for him and Michael Johnson has described his technique as flawless.  They gave the impression he had a much better future than the previous juniors who couldn't step up.

Underpants - yeah, all joking aside I tend to agree with that. Think we've got a goodun there. Might get a bronze at a major one day - which is a hell of an achievement.

For his age, he is a natural out of the blocks, which is a massive positive. He has an excellent attitude - far better than any promising sprinters that have gone before him - and I can quite easily see him developing into a consistent sub 10sec runner. He'll go a quarter of a second quicker than his best right now, which is 10.05. That will make him world class.
