As indicated by the odds this looks tight. Had originally thought Weir might continue his progression but he faltered very badly in the Semi Final and was kidding nobody when he eased over the line. At the moment it seems he isn't ready to step up. Although respecting the form of Martina for me it looks a toss up between Spearmon and Lemaitre and having taken the 7/2 just hoping the American can hold on again. Lemaitre could clearly do with another 10 metres.

LeMaitre laboring badly on his turns so far, Weir looked hurt to me in the semi, like Spearmon or Martina.  With current odds Martina at over 4's is where my money has gone.

Great market this

Spearmon is chasing Bolt, who's on his outside and did a great Semi time
Lemaitre has a bad lane but a great Semi time and finishes very well
Weir looked a tremendous talent in the first round

So I'm laying Martina at 3.6 for a Top 3, praying there's no DQs for the big two

Lemaitre in 2 lane. Not good lane for Lemaitre

LAY 4.5 is Value
Report morpteh mackem August 9, 2012 8:49 PM BST
spearmon for me
Report judorick August 9, 2012 8:49 PM BST
yes lemaitre will not be getting a medal from lane 2
Report Poppydog. August 9, 2012 9:12 PM BST
Lemaitre looked a bag of nerves beforehand and saw him blowing his nose twice,
so that was him out of it.

Weir was the standout of the Qualifiers and put that into tonight's race

Top stuff

I can't believe the BBC did an interview during the Kenyan national anthem. Shocking.
