Watched the heats of the womens 800 metres last night and was astonished to see a fully clothed women with head scarf finish 45 seconds behind the heat winner.
Is this some kind of joke?. Surely they have to meet qualifying times.? Maybe if she wasn't discriminated against and allowed to wear shorts and shirt she could have run 45 seconds faster.

Every country is allowed to nominate 1 starter (not sure of for the whole games or per type of sport) without fulfilling any limit. IOC was fond of Saudi Arabia to send 2 female participants, the 800 runner was 1 of them
