Mo's admitted to being tired and I'm sure he will be emotionally tired as well after the whole ceremony and press stuff.
Playing as a marker for his partner to take it is probably something that could need consideration, however, looking @ it from an emotional perspective, you wouldn't think Mo Farah @ 28 in his home Olympic games would sacrifice and not go for Gold despite feeling a little bit of fatigue.
What worries me is this '11 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix - Men's 3,000m - YouTube
Dejen Gebremeskel beat him in the 3000 meters indoors last year with jus one shoe. Admittedly it is only 3000 meters, however the commentator added towards the end that Dejen Gebremeskel has recorded a faster time than Mo in the 5000.
All in all, something for Mo to be slightly concerned about, wouldn't you think?

He is only one possible winner, five other possibles. Just dont think Farah is value at these odds.
i layed Dejen Gebremeskel what has this guy done to be fav?
it will be no surprise if Farah wins
He is the 5000m World Champ, running in his home stadium and has just won the 10 km Olympic title
not the kind of form I would want to be opposing based on one run in a heat where he did just enough to qualify
the odds may not be right but he can still win it and I don't like flipping coins which is what you are doing
we shall see, I'm not betting but will be cheering him on

Could be like the W1500 yesterday, looks a little juicy! Iguider fella also interesting.
Their PB's are way off what I think the pace will be though, not sure a final lap kick is going to do it today.
I backed Dejen Gebremeskel at 3.65 before Mo Farah won the 10000m. I've had a saver on Isiah Kiplangat Koech at 15s. I don't see Koech as a last lap kicker but he has a fast 1500m and Kenya Olympic qualifying 5000m both in Nairobi (1795m / ~5900 ft above sea level). A fast pace would suit that 18 year old.
My worry is both of these guys seem to be tactically poor, get into bad positions, run wide unnecessarily. The other Ethiopian and Kenyan runners might not be willing to set a good pace and sacrifice their medal chances.

Passionate discussion. Yes, it is a difficult race to call.
This is why I am sticking to basics based on my knowledge and
very few will agree with me. First three to cross the line and
I add in any order:
Legat, Longosiwa and Gebremeskel
Good luck to all of you

Did you back Legat Kiwi? ...and what knowledge of your backs that up and suggests he'll win @ 37 years of age?
He's got the fastest sprint finish i've seen- he can win off a slow pace imo
Times are irelavent in championship distance races
Most moronic comment on the forums ever (given that it appears to have been said with no tongue in cheek). 1.01
Correlation between times and results is 80%+.
Farah, not in the top 5 times THIS SEASON and even further back on the all time list. Even a 5 year old could figure this out.
Should be 20/1 to win and about 4/1 to place. I have bet accordingly. GL all.

I think the opposition is based more on his useless times, but also it seems on what he looked like in the heat.

Judorick, He done just enough to qualify? Well if that was all an act, we will be seeing Mo in Coronation Street next. He was hurting like hell trying to qualify in 3rd. 7/4 for gold in a line up of this quality dont make any sense. Lay him till the cows come home!!!
according to BBC News just now, Mo ran the 5k last week and is going for the 10K tonight.
Mo should be running at 7.30 this evening. But do check.
we shall see, I'm not betting but will be cheering him on
LOL
LOL
would love lagat to win this. fast pace early on will hinder his chances though
Charlton 2005, I know what you mean, I just dont know what your talking about
. You have bet accordingly then you have no bet, whats the jackanory?

Just quoting rick. Spouting off sh1t after being led by emotions and/or bookie's prices, and then says he's not having a bet!!
Just over 10 minutes to go.
Apparently no team tactics. Ethopian and Kenyan runners
do not want to give up their chances of a medal.
Let's enjoy the show guys.

my god ppl don't believe all the hype about Dejen Gebremeskel the guy is a joke this not the 3000m
I've had a nibble on Galen Rupp to finish in the top 3 at 4.5's. Come on Mo!

Imbecile producer showing pics of kids waving rubbish drawings
hes more likeable than ennis and wiggins and that was an amazingly courageous run. sports personality 4 me
He may well edge past Brad with that. Double gold in athletics is a feat the audiences love.
Does this commentator hate Kelly Holmes?
Why do they keep giving Mo a chance to show off his fast finish??? These distance athletes clearly ain't as clever as the road race cyclists.
Gebremeskel got hammered several times during the last lap.
Not that we'll hear about it, but Mo Farah a touch fortunate

Ah. Well glad you came up all that way to share your feelings with us!!
Yeah, the others definitely didn't race in a clever way.

if mo farah dusnt win sports personality its a fukking disgrace . who gives a tosss bwt wiggnins really ?
You can't give somebody SPOTY partly for winning a race organised by the Frogs.. The Ungodly Mo all the way...
I think its because he wouldnt take the personalised british flag off of her, you can see her put it back in her purse
Brendan Foster: "This is my favourite stadium in the world. Every Saturday you come here Mo Farah wins a gold medal".
The crowd carried him home, farah is such a grafter and has the will to win in his teeth.
I said earlier that the crowd would carry him home but he got home all by himself.
That has been the highlight of the games, for me.

The slowest 5000 metres Olympic final since Mexico City in 1968 (altitude 2240 m, 7350 ft)
Very pleased with result. Even with the tiredness factor Farah just showed he is a better athlete than Gebremeskel and the others.
