Brownlie brothers (nap)

I only like to bet on the top 3 in these types of event.
Backed Gomez at 2.3, layed J Brownlee at 1.29, A Brownlee at 1.14. Hoping to green the bets at at some stage later in the race, so I can support the Brits. |

Nasty crash

Whifield and Chacon on the deck...looked really bad.

'Must put all the kit in the plastic box'
Is this 'it's a knockout'? |
By:
seems like Jonathan fell foul of the rules re mounting bike...15 sec penalty possible. I hope he is not playing the joker.
By:
how do u mean playing the joker
By:
reference to 'Its a Knockout'...if you play the hoker you get double points

By:
dont give him a penalty ive laid gomez
By:
I am greened out now, layed Gomez at 1.6. I want UK gold and silver with Gomez 3rd now.

I've dutched A Brownlee and Gomez. Its a good watch this, thoroughly enjoying it.

If there's going to be a breakaway group would make sense to have one Brownlee in the lead group and one in the pack I would have thought.
By:
why wyk?
By:
Well I cant admit to knowing anything about this event, but my thinking was that if you get a breakaway group then either they go on to win (as with Men's road race) or they get caught and end up well down the field. So any individual has to make a hard choice whether to stay with the pack or join the lead group. Since we have the luxury of 2 top racers then better to hedge our bets and cover both eventualities.

By:
wyk - can't see it... both the best in the field and very good runners. anything less than gold and silver will be a disappointment
By:
This isn't cycling, Brownlees are the best runners out there, it was in their interests to make it a hard cycle
By:
Alistair has won this.
By:
OK well lets hope the Brownlees just stay at the front throughout the running. Its looking very good right now.
By:
Reckon he's going to try and break them so Jon can take his penalty and still get silver
By:
great job by Hayes, can't ask for much more than having the Brownlees at the front at the start of the run
By:
I think so Don. He did something similar in one of the World series last year and paced his brother to second place.
By:
don - jon finishes 15 seconds ahead

breakaway group of 3 (B/B/Gomez) getting a 15 sec lead is what we need here. Just pray they didnt go off too quick and risk ending up with nothing.
By:
Jon will roll the dice and either get silver or in process beak Gomez
By:
break..
By:
1.4 on Jon top 3 looks solid
By:
21 secs lead
By:
Does Johnny have to take a 15 secs breather or can he just carry on in the lead group and get 15 secs added in the end?
By:
Think he has to take a breather
By:
Has to stop.
By:
ok thanks
By:
Think he will take a breather. Great race to watch.
