Only good at sports that involve using the mouth?

Always seem to be good with the rabbit and not a lot else these days.

How bad is that Aussie rules mess ,football?

I think the Australian team performance at these Olympics is a bit of a shame really.

It's like the Irish at Cheltenham

You kind of want them to win a few, because even though you know they'll be insufferable, they make the party go with more of a swing.

you lot are going off early, we're a big chance to win 4 gold in the sailing, pearson in the 100m hurdles and the mens hockey team will go close too.. think of it like this, it's our worst olympics since the 70's yet we're still a huge chance to finish in the top 10 nations

See what you mean OP

It's all about what they're going to do, isn't it?

Yes, of course there are no other sports fans that do this, only Australians.

It is actually a good thing that if Australia are going to do badly, it should be at the London Olympics.  This way the British can have a great games and be able to rubbish Australia which seems to lift the spirits even more.

That's the spirit!!

It's not the same without the Aussies having a good old moan.

Actually, in all seriousness, I wanted the Aussie Mens Four to win the Rowing, because they gave my wife and I a lift at the last World Cup regatta in Munich - Andy Triggs-Hodge and Pete Reed have never been so generous. Also because Drew Ginn is a c0cking legend.

And Sally Pearson's sportsmanship this morning was something else too.

Oh hell, I'm coming over all Green and Gold.

Where are you hearing that?  I have only watched the pay tv coverage in Australia and all I have heard it praise for great results, no matter who has made them.

Well done Tom Slingsby, great effort!!

I'm backing Sally Pearson in, but sadly this and perhaps a couple more sailing and the hope of a hockey gold will not lift Australia into the top ten.

Hoping Meares can do well too..

Not only the Aussies that think poms are whingers,

In USA Today the story after the screw up in the mens road race stated, once it was clear the British made a monumental misjudgement their national psyche kicked in and they started moaning and complaining.

All the banter is amusing of course but if a Brit doesn't win the medal I'd want the Aussies to.  So much to admire about them and their attitude to sport.  They're having a dip at these Olympics but we shouldn't forget that our sports copied major elements of the Australian administrative and coaching model which has contributed to our success in recent times.
