she's a sprinter and a jumper, her weak events are the throws

Looking through her wiki page, at every major championships she's competed in, she's never finished outside the top 2 in the hurdles.

awful, she delayed us first of because she was shopping, just got worse from there

i saw her wandering round duty free with her husband and an airport employee/personal shopper helping her make purchases, didn't dawn on me until she strolled on she was on the same flight

ozy, it was on the michael johnson thread, i really was a huge fan of her athletic ability, never forget that body art either

I'm not believing Elise at all.  They wouldn't delay a flight for that reason.

I know Denise personally and can say that I have never found her to be miserable, moaning or rude.  I have always found her to be a really  great person.

Could easily be 1.01 after the javelin imo. Obviously she could blow it completely in the javelin but i don't really see a trading opportunity. You either lay her or back her. it's highly likely to be more or less decided before the 800m

I've been giving this my very great attention and after long deliberation my informed opinion is, if she doesn't win the gold medal tommorow its long odds on the members of the forum will be refering to her as Jessica in 24 hours time

and if she fails even to make a rostrum she'll have the ignamany of being referred to as Ennis, trust me the safest bet of the games.

well mate you have to workout the probable range of scenarios:-

Take the long jump first.

Ennis is capable of doing anything from a PB to abject failure. A PB would make her price shorten into 1.12 ish (only allowing slight opportunity for a phuck up in the jav). A bad showing in long jump (combined with good efforts from rivals who are better jumpers anyway) will see the gap close and then Ennis could be 1.5

I suspect she will do a 'competent' long jump, similar to her shot and high jump and trade around 1.35 

Now, the price range post javelin will be free 1.05 to 1.85 depending on how she throws

remember she lost the World Champs due to a bad javelin

also remember Chernova has a much faster 800m PB if I remember correctly so Ennis will need a lead going into the last

Chernovas PB in 800m is 1 second faster than Jess, but the javelin is 7m longer and the long jump 30cm - not sure how this converts into points, I asked Brucie and he just said 'prizes' which was mystifying

father, if they both did their pbs in te 3 events jess would win by less than 50 pts

the last event it's about 16 pts per sec if it gets that close

jess has a lead of 315 pts over chernova which would just be enough as long as she puts in solid results

other athletes either have a weak event or will score approx the same as jess, i make it jess is on for about 6930 pts

just on chernova, she hasn't looked 100% on day one, just question whether she is in form to score over 3000 pts today so if she doesn't then closest competitors are likely to be askujte & fountain, unless jess drops a right one i think she'll hold them

my points estimation was chernova 2nd, fountain 3rd, askujte 4th, swartzkopf 5th, but obv that's if they run to form and a couple of those are showing very strong results on day one so may improve their day 2 results

So far, apart from Skyute, the big guns look below form.
